Shearer just seems to be angry all the time and hate everyone. Jenas is damn near perfect.Shearer has upped his game recently though...I think BBC have recruited well recently, Danny Murphy and Jermaine Jenas being prime examples.
He meansPerfect timing, I hope it's not seen as derailing the thread from Henry & punditry, but these are comments hot off the press from Bruce and I've heard similar comments from many pundits:

What English spirit? "Back"?? We have always been shit, with very, very limited success. What does this even mean? It is completely impossible to define. If it's impossible to define, it's impossible to identify and rectify the route causes. THIS is why we are shit.
Met him walking down the High Road from Seven Sisters last season, spent a good 10mins chatting with him, very nice fella and agree quite like his footy chat but does lack a post analytical breakdown of the game, but as co-commentator he's not bad.I like Kevin Kilbane. He's likeable, down to earth and seems knowledgeable. Co commentates well and is a good studio pundit.
He's my exception to to rule, Me disliking all at the BBC.

Interesting. Long ball next season.
Just listening to Hoddle talking about Woolwich, he says they don't need to buy players.
Yet towards the end of the season he had a disagreement with Redknapp when he said Spurs needed to "push on and buy players".
What fucking planet is he on?
BTW I've no issue with debating if we do or do not need to buy to add to our 1st 11, but in the context of comparisons between us & them he is surely talking absolute bollocks.
One of the best players I have ever watched, on par with Platini and Cruyff. He's a legend as a player, but a very strange man beyond that. Shame really, but it's the same with many of our best.

Unfortunately I have always struggled with his punditry. On the times I agree with what he says, he will go on and say something else that I struggle with making it impossible to agree wholeheartedly.
I think he plays to the gallery a bit when in a studio. I think he is tactically more adept than Rednapp but I always find myself agreeing more with Redknapp.
He and Allen are also very, very negative when commentating on our games, drives me nuts when for every other game we've got bias from Liverpool, ManU, and Woolwich commentators cheering their teams goals.
Oh well.

Yeah, I don't want bias cringe. Good point on JJ for me he gets it spit on, he shows enthusiasm towards us but only when it reflects the performance. Seen him openly criticize when needed too. This is what gets me the most.... It's almost.... Dare I say... spursy...
Thank God for the emergence of JJ, just a slight shame he's not a bit more of an icon of ours (Shearer blatantly looks down on him compared to Gullit, Lineker and the like) but I spose it's still a lot better than false yids like the Redknapps.
Mind you, Jamie fawning over us in the name of his dad during his spell here was its very own echelon of cringe.... In fact wasn't Jnr seen as a 'Liverpool pundit' up until then (pre-Carragher)?

Fucking hated that vid that went arround of Redknapp in a Corp. Box celebrating a goal, can't remember the game but guess it might have been a CL game?? So fucking fake, if that's how he feels when Spurs score why haven't we seen him do it again?
