Player Pape Sarr

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He's come on massively since last season. Way more influential now and has nailed on that 8 role.

Kulu/Madders + Biss/Bentancur fighting it out to partner him.

Honestly think Ange might settle on moving Kulusevski back out to the RW but with a free role when he has Sarr available to play that R8. Sarr can cover the whole flank and help Porro out which means Kulusevksi is playing like a false 9 off the RW almost.

That's the way we need to go. Johnson isn't offering enough from the right.

Having Kulu take care of the ball and be a real creative force from that wing makes a massive difference. He's also a completely different physical beast than Johnson.

I also think we lose something when it's one of Kulu or Maddison. Maddison on form is still great in the final third. Our best team has them both on the pitch and playing them both as 8's doesn't really work.

Yup I think our best 11 has Maddidon AND Kulusevski in it and if that means Sarr cover R8 so Kulusevski plays RW then Johnson needs to be the super sub against tired legs

Let's not get carried away.

I don't get how he doesn't rate higher in the defensive aspects, he disrupts and wins the ball back relentlessly more often than not

Maybe he doesn't do it as much as you think? He's below Bissouma and Bergval for tackles per 90 and Tackles won per 90. Unfortunately pressing stats aren't easy to come by these days.

Players don't improve under Ange

Hard to tell how much is Ange here and how much is Sarr developing with age (he's still only 22). What would you say has been his biggest area of improvement?

Are these stats generated by humans tapping a button to enter it or somehow computed using Ai or similar?

Isn't that true of every player? Getting minutes and doing a job that suits your strengths should give a good player the chance to improve.

Biggest area? absolutely timing of arrivals in the box. This season he's developing into a proper box crashing #8. After that it's definitely the pace and weight of pass. He used to be hit and miss on passes, always had a great pass in his locker but now he's spraying them around much more consistently.
