Player Pape Sarr

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

After two seasons here I don't see the 'a lot of things he is good at'. What are they? His shooting is hit and miss, and he shows the technique flaws that Bentancur and Bissouma have. The good thing about his game is his stamina, and ability to get up and down the pitch. The form he showed at Metz has been devoid for much of his time here. Like most of our players he's not up to scratch in what he tries to do.

I believe he has talent, he just needs a coach to get it out of him...came into the club during Conte's infamous 2nd season where it all went tits up and then the last 2 years of Ange has been a collosul waste of time...the club have failed a lot of our players.

What we’ve seen Sarr do:

Cover ground in long strides

Win challenges using long legs and without needing to go to ground

Box crash and score goals

Ping cross field passes

Crosses from the right wing

Play through balls in central areas

He’s got so much going for him but he’s not asserting himself on games nearly enough

His first club is called Generation Foot. Not a lot of people know that.

Consistency is what we need. Your examples reference scattered instances over two years. It's too sporadic.

Italy on loan could work but he’d probably take that as the end of his time here.

I’m not 100% ready to give up on him yet. He covers ground like very few can and when he’s at it, technically pretty good.
I'm happy to give him a shot under a new manager who knows his footy, and not having Bissouma around will also help him...but that's a big jump from where Sarr is now to where he should really be, and I just don't think he's got it in him.

Kid has great legs and a sound engine, but his football IQ is way below par as of now.

We are stupid. Sarr was being trained as a deep playmaking 6 at Metz, which was a role he excelled at. He is good at a lot of things. He's one of our best long-shooting threats from midfield in that he's actually hit nice strikes from deep for us before-unlike Bissouma or Bentancur.

Playing in this moronic system under this fake of a coach is doing him no favors. If we are to persist like this as a club I hope that a lot of these players, who I personally like, leave Tottenham for the sake of their careers.
theres no chance he's good enough on the ball to play 6 in the PL. He'd get eaten alive

We don’t agree on much but when we do, it’s because we are both 100% right 😅

To be fair there’s not many players in the league who can play as a solo 6 in a possession team. It’s why Man City fell apart. I definitely see him as more of a box to box and his athleticism is a strength there. But no reason he couldn’t be part of a double pivot. We shouldn’t be basing our set up on unicorn players.

Name me one single player that has had consistency in this trainwreck of a season?!?!

Vicario has had bagful of errors.
Bentancur has been half-invisible in many 2nd half of the season games.
Kulusevski right now in shocking form.
Solanke losing the scoring boots in 2nd half of the season.
Bergval took time to get up to speed (which is totally understandable given age and all).
and so on and so on and so on. Lot of players have missed too much of the season (VDV; Odobert etc) so we cannot make that kind of assessment.
Porro was running on fumes and looked poor around Dec-Jan.
Spence has been always good, but was frozen out of the squad for half season (and in full honesty is now as well).

Literally NOT A SINGLE PLAYER would deserve to stay with us if we look at things like that.
So is that really the fact - that all of the players from GK to ST are not good enough? Or should we maybe change the coach?

I am honestly bit shocked how many people are willing to jump on Sarrs back, suggest he is useless, offers nothing and we should offload him. I mean HOW EXACTLY do you expect him to improve when he gets nothing from the management? Do we seriously expect player to become better based on YT videos ?!? On EPL level??? Yes, Bergvall has upped his level, but that has been down to mainly physical side of things. I am convinced that one more season of this coaching, and he would regress too. And then we'd see calls to sell him for 20 mil also.

What about Romero? 🤔

He is incosistent little pussy and when he goes, no one will miss him.
