Player Pape Sarr

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Crazy to think that there are places still without electricity in the world.
Standing Ovation Applause GIF by Film Independent Spirit Awards

Pape is such a good guy, and so socially responsible at a young age.

I'm very bored of the MGW saga.
I love Pape
I had a feeling that his name was usually pronounced incorrectly, so I went to check.
Google AI suggested that In Senegalese (French?) Pape is pronouced Pap, rhyming with "cap" or "trap" in English.
I didn't believe it.
Found a video from the media day where they get all the players to say their own name.
He pronounces it Pap-Eh / Pap-Ay

Bill Madrid Bill Madrid will furnish us all with the proper diacritic/phonetic symbols.

Here to help.

Sarr is a very good footballer.

I think we'll see the best of him under a modern manager. Ange had no idea what to do with him except have him run around a lot. I know few think of him as a candidate to be a 6, but he did train in that position at Metz and could still grow into being an option there for us. He has really great passing and shooting skills. Great range and length.

Kid's got to show big improvements this year. Or else.

It's his 4th season, 100+ games already for us, 30+ for Senegal, gonna turn 23 in Sept...he ain't a newbie, no more excuses.

Legs & lungs always been there, needs to up his football IQ.
Sarr at his worst is still a squad player. At his best, he covers the most ground out of our midfield and can initiate counter attacks and score. Even if he doesn’t take his game to the next level, he’s still a useful player. He’s young and shouldn’t fall off a cliff barring injury.

Only player who’s publicly come out to countersignal Ange’s bullshit propaganda narrative that 17th was unavoidable due to “prioritization”. An insulting untruth peddled by the lowest of the low.

Good on Sarr for telling the truth. He refused to let the wool be pulled over his eyes like many of the lemmings in our fanbase and media. He saw Ange the Clown for what he was and never wavered in his commitment to winning every single match, which should be the goal of every Spurs player in perpetuity.

He is a player who will stand up and be counted. Provided the assist for our EL goal. A fighter and a competitor. A Keeper.

Nobody said 17th was unavoidable. But Ange did say that a decision was made in Feb to prioritise all efforts on Europa.

2 of the big decisions were that VDV and Richy did not go back into the squad when fit. VDV specifically was instead put on a program to alter his running technique to avoid future injuries.

For squad with big expectations like Spurs, it is hard to motivate players when there is nothing to play for. No player is going to give 100% and fight to finish 10th. All eyes were on the trophy.

I think Sarr is a top class player and hopefully this season he continues to improve.

I think like you could say about most of our players, a bit of hands on coaching will go a long way. Ange was a bit hamstrung at times not able to do much training, even then he doesn't hold sessions himself. He managed to instill something in them though as they won a trophy and that is not an easy thing to do especially given some bad injuries etc. Winning European trophies ain't for everyone, so don't piss on our win.

Frank takes over a close knit squad with great vibes, winners, and they all know 17th is unacceptable. They have much to prove.

I'm really looking forward to having a manager who coaches them himself. That close work is what should propell them up a notch or 2. Look at Danny Rose, Walker, etc under Poch. They were elevated by Poch's training, so I'm excited to see what Frank may be able to get out of them, because actually we do have some very promising players, like Sarr who just need that extra bit of guidance.
