Player Pape Sarr

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

We definitely improved when he came on. He provided cover for Gallagher and Bissouma who were exposed first half. He also helped Gray get in the game second half by combining with him. Also just having his energy in midfield helped us take the game to City second half and get the momentum to turn it around.

Watched him closely on the replay and he showed that he isn't the headless chook he sometimes appeared .
Was clearly paying a much more defensive position and was always where he needed to be , made some crucial tackles and interceptions .

Disappointing today. Poor touches, poor decisions on the ball.

For someone who was hyped as a future star, he really seems to have leveled off in a pretty unimpressive place. Lack of playing time for his national team fits with this too.

A former teammate of mine is close to the FC Metz setup. I recently asked him to have a wee chat with some of the guys who dealt with Pape and report back.

Overall consensus is that he hasn't reached the heights they thought he would have by now. And that Spurs was the wrong club for him. One of them said to my bud that if Pape had signed for a Brighton or Fulham instead back then, he'd now be at a true European giant and be talked about as an 80-90mil player. Thought he really had the potential to turn into a Vieira, Essien, Mahamadou Diarra type.

Gotta say I feel sorry for the kid cause he defo has the raw talent, just joined a complete circus of a club and been mismanaged. Plus he's a sweet lad.

Untimely breaks in gametime... Poor management....

BUT he was always gonna have to improve on the ball to fulfill the more extreme end of the hype being tossed about.

Your freind is spot on. Its obvious the clown car that is Spurs stunted him. We are in the process of spoiling Begval and have seriously undermine the potential of Spence. These three under better coaches than our last three would have seriously improved the reality is they go backwards. Its why I dont want LWB and Vuskovic anywhere near the first team. Boy definitely chose the wrong club

Victim of poor coaching- like most of our squad.
Few have net improved under Ange or Frank. I can't really think of any to be honest except maybe Odobert.

Even Odobert, think it’s more his body nearer fully recovered as this season goes on, plus natural maturing.

Not one player has improved, maybe Xavi but again that’s just his own rather than coaching IMO.

You make it sound like his career is over. The kid is 23.
