This is poorly done. The blokes a cretin if he thinks Spurs fans have anything but love and respect for Burkinshaw. Manager decides to go with younger keeper shock. Its bollocks.
I am not claiming that Spurs fans don't love Burkinshaw, but is "shocking" that he could be so darn wrong about Pat Jennings. He should have known much better, and Jennings should have been given a chance before being ditched. Jennings ended up playing 237 for Woolwich.

What gets forgotten is that during the 78 / 79, 79 / 80 and 80 / 81 seasons; Spurs need for a top goalkeeper was absolutely obvious.

Mark Kendall and Aleksic had a go but neither were any better than Barry Daines in all honesty.

It was a proper fuck up that was only resolved when we signed Ray Clemence in 1981, who was then older than Jennings was at the time we let him go to Woolwich.

Let’s not be forgetting Booby Mimms.

Wasn’t Jennings’ move down to a lack of additional year on the contract? Disclaimer: I haven’t watched the video above.

Mimm's was later under Venables.

Jennings had packed up by then.

I always felt Spurs should have kept Jennings, Chivers, Duncan and Peters from the team Terry Neill managed before Burkinshaw.

They all carried on throughout the 70's and some of them into the 80's.

Souness too; from just before that period.

Imagine if he had stayed to look after Hoddle?

Same old shit really isn't it?

Pat has talked about this a lot on podcasts. I don't think I ever heard him hang Burkinshaw out, his criticism was with the Board. Not sure why it has to be raked up now anyway in a clickbait film with no quotes from the big man himself.
