But that's something Levy should have checked BEFORE the contracts were done, surely as our chairman who has the "best interests of the club at heart" this is something he should have asked about or investigated before contracts?

Regardless, apparently it isn't even about taxes now, it's just a choice Levy has made.

Why should he expect that the agent shouldn't do his job?

There is no reason for Levy to think that Fonseca and his agent are some dumb that they didn't know the tax situation or look into it when moving countries. That is not Levy's job at all.

There is no reasonable expectation that Levy should have to do the job of the agent. This tax issue is 100% on the agent and Fonseca.

There’s no tax issue

Thought we got rid of that Mendes cunt along with Mourinho....

When I saw that Gattuso and his agent Mendes had a falling out I almost posted now look at us get him because of the Mendes connection, but then I remembered Jose is not here so our Mendes connection is gone but maybe not. Which is as concerning as the Gattuso hiring.

Levy's job is to protect our club, whilst the issue still falls on the agent and the Fonseca Levy should still be doing checks himself to make sure the club doesn't look like a clown show.

Also, there is every reason to think the bolded as a chairman of a football club who has the best interests of the club in mind.

To use an analogy, just like when you get into a vehicle, assume everyone else on the road is an idiot so you can increase your odds of avoiding an accident, that's what a sensible person does.

Levy gave our new DoF free reign on this, so it's on Paratrici. However, as I said when Paratici was first rumored to join, his reputation on manager appointment is questionable.

Apologists have been spinning positive on Fonseca, and now Paratrici just gave them the middle finger🖕 for their support. :sonpoint:
Suits Levy perfectly doesn't it? It's almost like this has all been designed so Levy can avoid taking blame for failure because he knows we aren't spending any money whatsoever to improve our position as a football club, the purse strings are pulled tight and a DOF can shoulder all the blame when it goes tits up.

What people will seemingly forget however is that Levy hired the DOF, it's HIS fault, the buck should stop with him, something that NEVER seems to happen.

What check can he do?

The agent and Fonseca agreed to the deal. Is he supposed to ask the agent by the way did you do your fucking job?

This is a million dollar deal Levy should be able to expect the agent to do something as basic as understand that different countries have different taxes, especially if it was important enough to kill the deal.

This is not on Levy in any way, although it appears like the taxes thing might not even be the reason for the deal to fall apart.
