Ex-Spurs Player Pierre-Emile Højbjerg

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Yet another quality display from 'The Clogger'. Got to say it quietly around here though.

Can't wait to hear about how shit he is next time we lose

class tonight. solid CM display. thats what happens when you get a competent partner next to you who can go into the trenches with ya.

liking the bentancur and PEH partnership. compliment each other well imo, nice balance to it with the right amount of steel

Spot on, Hojbjerg benefits a lot from playing next to someone with a bit more guile. It also helps that Kulusevski provides us some more team creativity compared to Moura or Bergwijn.

I feel really comfortable with Bentancur, PEH, and Skipp. Replace with Winks with someone decent and bring Sarr back from loan and that is a really well balanced and young midfield group going forward.

Pretty much agree except I’d suggest that we should replace Winks with someone who you’d expect to walk into our side as first choice. Skipp and Bentancur are both potentially top players, I think we need someone who already is.

Reliable against Brighton, Norwich, Leeds, I never doubt him against mid to lower level EPL sides. The problem is always against top five teams. This is why I've been saying for over a year he needs to be a bench option not a starter. This circle is hilariously fixed praised by his fans when we knock over a Brighton derided by his critics after he fails to get near a top five midfield. Rinse and repeat.

This is my take. He was pretty good against Utd to be fair

Bentacuer is an excellent player so PEH can only benefit from his ability.

but what you're saying is a total myth. I will repost what I posted a week or so ago:

"This season he had 2 good games vs Manchester City, a good game vs Leicester and bad against United, Woolwich where the whole team was absolutely horrendous when Nuno basically decided not to even have a midfield and Chelski.

Last season he was good against United, Woolwich and Chavski and City from the top of my head.

its a total myth when people say he doesn't have good games against good players/opposition but people like yourself like to rewrite history. I suggest you have a look at the match threads of these games to get a true reflection of what people made of his performances and not continuously try and downplay his contribution."

since that post he is one of the only players that showed up against United and was MOTM yesterday.

Better than a Benta yesterday? Hmmm not for me but both were good

He has more bad games than good vs good sides imo but big caveat when next to Winks and under Nuno eg that Emirates shitshow

And Everton
And City
And United

What's the commonality?
No Winks.

Have a wider look at our midfield possession stats since he became a regular. You have your opinion I have mine. You keep talking up these good games against City and Chelsea that's not what I saw. I respect your point of view, mine is simple. Hoijberge is not starter in a champions league team. Your opinion of his good games and mine differ widely. Time will tell who is correct

He is a starter in any game until we get someone better.

That's a bit water is wet as statements go. Yes he is, and our form and inability to keep the ball will be the corollary whilst he is. I've accepted that and it's implications but I refuse to play this 'oh he's had a good game' So its all good conclusion. Hes a big part of what we have become for good and ill and I hope for us to be alot better than these past two years
