Ex-Spurs Player Pierre-Emile Højbjerg

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Nice bloke who could be relied on to put in a good shift for us. I find it depressing to read so much negativity about a loyal, hardworking team member. Good luck to him in his new club.

Some posters seem to have forgotten that Hojbjerg played about 100% of the first 50 or 60 games after he was first signed and was our key midfield player - almost certainly his signing was to try to rebuild a Spurs midfield after the disastrous signings of Ndombele and Lo Celso., the realisation that Sissoko was nothing special and Eriksen rapidly ageing.

So I think we owe a vote of thanks for his first couple of seasons, and whilst its totally correct to say Spurs needed a different type of midfielder over last couple of years, at least part of the reason why he's still at Spurs is that all our managers, including Ange, have found he's a safe pair of hands to see out a game - plus also the transfer market has not had many non PL buyers with any cash, so we couldn't 'afford to sell him.

I think he'll be a top signing at a very low price at the right club and still at an age where he will play at the top for another 4 or so years.

Thanks Pierre for your efforts at Spurs, and all the best for the future.

Typical overhyping of English players. Ask anyone in the Euros, and no one but the English will tell you Gallagher is a better player
Yes but aside from the Euros we have the last 3 seasons of evidence in the prem.

I don’t even like Gallagher at all, he is overrated and the gap between him a PEH isn’t big but I’d still take him.

Tremendous presser and ridiculous stamina and he crashes the box all day. Still don’t like him as he is worse than average on the ball.

PEH is the better natural footballer but half the athlete and he has such mental lapses that you can’t ignore.

Both are coaches pets type players.

There is a distinct difference in professionalism between PEH and ndombele. He was poor at times but had some great moments and in his first season showed he was a far better player than I gave him credit for. I thank him for his service and his 100% commitment and effort to our club.

What annoys me so much in the mythology that surrounds players like Roberts and Roy Keane, is that people forget that first and foremost they were very talented footballers. There’s no way Roberts could have survived in a team with Hoddle & Ardiles if he never had talent that complemented theirs.

It’s what separates them from the Vinnie Jones and the Lee Cattermoles.
Roberts had more heart than footballing ability... His 'drive, determination and heart drove the team forward and lifted them to help win the EUFA cup... Without him there's no doubt in my mind we wouldn't have won it.. as for footballing skill ie control touch passing ability, like PEM ect ect ,... B league , WAY behind Keane and others..

I always liked him, even with some of his performances where he went missing a bit. Always seemed to have the right attitude. Probably is time for him to move on, I wish him luck.

Fella ‘appeared’ to give his all for the team - maybe he did. Decent engine. Marked space well and popped up with the odd goal.

Let’s be honest though….I’ve rarely seen an international footballer so petrified of receiving the ball and in such a hurry to get rid - a hurry that resulted in some comically inept moments.

Viking warrior or ‘pointing and tattoos’?

I’d go with the latter
