Player Player Squad Registered 2025/26

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Now with MGW our CL squad really does need a lot of thinking about.
As per the rules above we are allowed a maximum UCL squad of 22.
Current squad of players listed in the OS senior squad:

NHGCLUB TRAINED

Current squad is 22 NHG + 7 ASSOCIATION + 1 CT. Total 30.
We are allowed max 17 NHG + 4 ASSOC + 1 CT. Total 22.
So at least 8 players have to be removed from the squad.
Update: Veliz on loan, Takai, Kudus and MGW (?) in.

We are allowed a squad of 21 + CT. Total 22.
Currently 23 NHG + 8 HG + 1 CT = 32.
So now 10 players need to be "culled."
We are allowed a maximum of 17 NHG.

Biss, Son, Gil, Solomon gone permanently
Davies either gone or not registered for CL
Yang, Phillips loan
Takai not registered for CL
Radu not registered for CL due to long term injury

That's 9 omissions. With Davies and Radu not registered - Vuskovic has to be in.

One more left - maybe Deki if not fit, or one of Sarr/Odobert since we are kinda stacked in CM and at wings.

Here's my guess at the UCL squad:

?? TF may swap Vuskovic for Davies or perhaps Davies is sold?

With the new investment and expected outgoings it will be interesting to see what the final plan for this summer is expected to look like. Kudus and MGW (once sorted) are excellent signings, but if we’re serious about competing in the EPL and Champions League, securing the latter for 26/27, then we need an overhaul. I would expect a LB, LCB, DM and striker to come in and I wouldn’t be surprised if both Bissouma and Bentancur left and we brought in 2 new central midfielders.

With Kulu still out for a while, I wouldn’t be naming him in the Champions League squad.

Would love a new keeper as I'm not thrilled with Vic/Kinsky/Austin as our options...think it's weak, especially considering our ambitions. If it's up to me, I'm bringing in a new No 1 quality goalie to really push Vic...who needs it. Also letting Kinsky go (loan or permanent) and Austin is the backup behind newbie & Vic.

But if we're to keep the same trio, which is very likely unfortunately, then my order is 1/Vic 2/Austin 3/Kinsky...and we gotta pray that Vic grows up and becomes more than a shotstopper, and that he never gets injured.

Hopefully though, with that new investment coming in, our decision-makers will look at the keeper situation and sign us a solid guy.

The defense still needs addressing. Let's not forget we conceded 120+ goals in two seasons...and that's just the PL. Yeah yeah Ange's system was suicidal...I totally agree, but you need two people to have crap sex ie the personnel is also to blame.

Porro/Spence at RB is fine, especially if/when TF teaches Porro the art of defending & looking over his shoulder.

Need a serious LB to come in as Udogie ain't a sure thing performance or injury wise. Sod using Djed, Archie or Ben there! Unless Micky becomes our starting LB? But that is just solving one area by messing up another (even more). Fulham's Robinson is my No 1 pick.

RCB: unpopular opinion but keeping Romero who plays 20 games a season would be ridiculous...especially with the 2026 WC coming up. Someone will give us 70mil for him. So in my books Danso is the starting RCB and I wanna see Vusko or Ash as his deputy (loan the one who doesn't make the cut to a PL team). The Japanese kid must be loaned out to a good, ideally London-based, Champo team.

LCB: I'm Thomas Frank, there's no way I'm 100% confident that Micky will stay fit the whole season. And there's no way I'm thinking Ben or any of our right-footed defenders (incl Archie) are at the level to play there, let alone on the regular. Therefore we must sign a solid dude, someone that can really push Micky and even take over if/when we start seeing Micky play some LB mins. With the new money coming in, maybe this is the summer we finally get Bastoni, though Guehi would be my top target and not just cause he's English.

Just over 5 months since he did his ACL . Would be a gamble for anyone taking him after such a short time, usually 9 - 12 mos for that sort of injury. Someone might take him on loan. He will probably look a lot better in a properly organised team.
There is NO such thing as a normal return time. It dependsv WHOLLEY on the severity of the injury.

Some very minor ACL injured players are back in weeks.

It's perfectly possible Radu plays in a couple of high profile preseason games for Spurs to prove fitness in a couple of weeks time - although with number of CB s we have competition for playing ti m e will be high

Stop shouting .didnt know there was such a thing as a minor ACL.

Bit of an early call and really need to see Vuskovic play against better opposition later this preseason to test him more (but many called him best CB in Belgium last season), , but after today's showing :

1 18 year old Vuskovic might well join Romero, Van de Venn and Danso as our top 4 CB quota. And that could be tough on Dragusin.

2 If 20 year old Takai looks as good in our pre-season as he did in Japan ....... does he join the CB ranks as well with Van de Ven playing LB (which he does for Netherlands) . With the same query over 20 year old Ashley Phillips who has had 2 seasons now as Championship CB, won young player of year at his first Championship club and regarded by fans as their best defender last year at Stoke as well as being regarded highly in England set up, was E u19 captain..

All to be decided. But interesting choices to make for the squad.

We keep getting links with more CBs too, could be bullshit though?

I know - can only assume that either
1 Romero's future was very much in the balance so Spurs looking round for alternatives to come in , or alternatively
2 We thought we might need to get a 'better passing' version of Dragusin (whose defensive skilld are good, but not passing) and had assumed Vuskovic at aged 18 was too young for PL and would need to be loaned out or
3) We had in mind to move Van de Ven to LB and thought we'd need a new CB.

Nothing's set in stone yet, but the potential of our younger CB's is pretty special.

Early days with vuskovic but he does look like the real deal 🤞

Both Bissouma and Bentancur have contracts expiring in June 2026, and the general feeling seemed to be that Bissouma would be sold this summer and Bentancur's contract would be extended - but neither has happened as yet ! The easy one would be Bentancur's extension surely as it only takes the player to agree?

Although Morgan Gibbs White has a reputation as an AM, because he doesn't score or assist that much but his defensive stats look pretty good, I think we could be lining him up to be one of a double pivot, possibly replacing the inconsistent Bissouma. So delay in MGW signing could explain Bissouma still being at Spurs with a month of transfer window still to go.

So with Bissouma and Bentancur's contract status still asking questions, I'm left wondering if Frank/Lange wanted to look at Alfie Devine and George Abbott in preseason to see if they could be ready to be included as part of the first team squad - as well as looking at how Gray and Bergvall are looking after 12 months at Spurs, perhaps Gray in particular given he's only had a couple of chances at CM since coming to Spurs.

Whilst the Bentancur/Bissouma conundrum could be explained by there being another CM transfer in the offing aside from MGW, I'm not sure we'd want to spend £50m more in CM this window to improve our CM options when we might need to spend money on a Richarlison upgrade and/or LB/LCB, and having Devine available.

Sarr also available in CM. Personally I see his key attributes as powerful running but his passing is not great, and although only 23 in September can't see such a fundamental skill being rectified by coaches. So whilst I think he'll stay this summer as otherwise its too much change at CM, its another uncertainty in that position

Remembering Biss at Brighton, I'd be inclined to give him another season. No player looked really good under AP. Give them all a chance under TF...we might be pleasantly surprised. Even Richarlison who I dislike might be better.

Bissouma looked, if anything, worse under Conte than Ange - under Ange he at least had half a dozen good games amongst the rst where 3/10 or 4/10 were too common.
