No of course not, my point is hes getting too much blame....just as he was getting too much praise when we were really good.....Lots of People attributed our success hugely to him which I strongly disagreed with...our squad was class hence why we were good....now hes getting too much stick but the main reason weve declined is imo our squads decline....

there are definitely things to criticise about Pochetino and you could make a case for sacking him imo, I just hate this idea that if we had say Klopp or Pep wed be challenging for titles...It's completely divorced from any actual evidence
I'm not in agreement fully with you here as I dislike the attitude in which Poch has taken to domestic cups but I understand what you mean.

I think he should probably go. Not because he's a poor manager. But because his relationship with Levy was destroyed last summer and his expectations were clearly not met by the board.

Do you think he's a shit manager? Or do you think he's been let down by the board? As Jermain Jenas alluded to today.
Do you blame him for half the team playing out their contracts?
No I don't think he's a shit manager just like Klopp wasn't a shit manager despite being close to relegation with Dortmund - but nonetheless he was absolute shit at the end and he had no way of coming back

Levy and Poch both share the blame for our recent (5) years of poor transfers but it's irrelevant. He still has to go because he has lost the desire, relationships with the fans and the players and the results are totally unacceptable.

But like you, I blame Poch for not winning a cup, and not Levy.
Yeah, I agree.
Shocking decision to play a weakened team v United in the Semi. I think you and I were hand in hand that night in slating the manager.
Had his eyes too firmly set on Levy's top 4 mantra.

:dierpochhug:

Will you join me, again, tonight, in criticising the chairman for not backing the manager last summer, or winter, when he'd clearly achieved his objectives ahead of schedule

I never suggested that Levy was Innocent and I'm in full agreement with you that mistakes were made especially regarding successive windows that went by without signings.

I just happen to not like it when certain posters bring up Levy all of a sudden when discussing something that is intrinsic to a manager such as when and which substitutions are made.

That's fair enough mate, thanks for clarifying, I agree with you, the blame on a match to match basis is with the managers and players.

No excuse to not be beating Colchester and Brighton, we don't need £600m net spend to be winning games like that, our squad and manager is more than capable.

That being said, I think the manager and players are mentally shot from what's happening at the club, the lack of real investment to win silverware, the lack of ambition in regards to the footballing side of things and just the fact that many of them probably feel they are wasting their careers here now and likely won't win anything, that's the biggest issue imo, I even imagine that Kane is starting to have doubts.

Never thought I'd say this but whenever Poch is on TV being interviewed now I just switch off. He has nothing to say that I want to hear or haven't already heard before. That's a sad indictment of how bad I think things are.
Although I'm still hoping he'll turn things around, I've stopped listening to his press conferences. Ignorance is bliss after all

I get what you’re saying but we’re also talking about the atmosphere in the dressing room and general morale

How can Pochs comments about leaving sit well with our team ?

I feel like there is definitely a rift between the players and manager compared to when he first moved here, even down to the contract signing pictures where Poch would always be present, arm around them etc.

He just seems more distant than before, maybe the players feel the same or maybe the players are more distant and that's changed Pochs perception of them.

I dunno, it's all guesswork, something isn't right though imo.

I disagree with that.

I think he really does care. I am a lot less sure he is able to turn it round.

It's how much Levy feels he deserves the extra mile he would not have given anyone else.
I remember when he used to storm off down the tunnel at FT when we messed up. You could tell he had words to say. He just didn't seem that same fiery person today. More resigned. Maybe he felt sorry for them. Maybe he just thought 'what more can I do?'.

What more can he do at this point? I get the impression that it doesn't matter what tactics he goes with (although, his tactical decisions have been utterly shocking) the players still won't respond anyway.

It's all a bit shit really.
