Why is everyone so hyped on Rangnick? He's reaching his mid 60s, have never set his foot outside of Germany and has been without a job for two years (?). I have never heard much of him or seen his teams play, so just curious.

I think a lot of the desire for Rangnick is because of his time and role in setting up the RB system. Most people see him more as a DOF or a manager who can play a strong part in transfer business. He also has been an strong influence on a lot of managers having success now and plays a style that most fans want.

For me, I personally want him as a DOF more than manager, although I would be fine if he wanted to take on both jobs at first to give him time to a. move out deadwood or b. assess the club to see who is the best fit or c. both.

I think we will get either Sarri, Rafa, Potter or Parker. I predict Rafa but considering how Levy has been choosing his managers, Sarri is not out of the question.

I’d love to have a successful English manager and would be happy to give Potter or Parker a go. Trouble is, I can’t see our squad and their over inflated egos* buying into it. So I’ve gone for Ten Hag. He’s also built a proper system and philosophy around the club, bringing youth through and developing players.

*I also wouldn’t mind a complete overhaul of the squad based on youth with very view of the current lot retained!
I totally get why people are cautious about Potter if he was appointed at Spurs with some of the big names and egos of certain players currently in the squad that’s why I believe with the emphasis he places in Sports science and wellbeing would come into its own and he build a sound cohesive unit through his methodical approach.

Ten Haag - Ajax’s system of bringing youth through and philosophy is imprinted at the club and has been for decades.

Find good young academy players bring them through to the first team give them opportunities and sell them on for huge amounts of money then repeat and repeat and repeat.

I like Ten Haag I just feel Potter is a more complete Coach and can adapt tactics and persona to any environment.

Thanks for your reply, and you're right Mourinho left behind a shambles and a lot of poison.
Your last point was my concern. We don't have the pulling power of Man U or the Chavs without European competition.
But we’ve been here before, we know how to operate outside the fabled CL gates, I’d argue that’s been when we’ve been at our most creative. We’ve not just closed the financial gap to the other “big 5”, we’ve overtaken one of them and brought ourselves on par with another. We’ve overtaken the likes of Juve and Dortmund too in Europe.

It feels like we are further away from achieving a top 4 position than at any point in the last 7-10yrs and that’s because we don’t have a manager, so there’s nothing to get behind. No visible plan, no direction.

That changes when a new man is appointed (so long as it’s not a Benitez, Pullis or Bruce).

I know he had a bit of a shocker on Sunday but not sure how Hojbjerg is in your top 3 list to be first out the door. Great first half of the season before being run in to the ground. Only Lloris played more minutes this season. I think he'll be a really important player for us again next season, possibly alongside Skipp. We've just bought him too. Don't see the logic in offloading him.
He’s garbage, albeit not quite as pitiful as Winks/Sissoko

worth keeping as fourth choice centre mid but if he starting games, we won’t be competing for fourth place

I can see Levy waiting to see how England perform at the Euros. Think he may try to lure Southgate away.
Southgate is very aware of young English talent, has worked with many of our squad and is' liked' by the media.
Not sure how I feel about actually putting that thought down in words?!?

Most of the reports say that we want a manager in before the euros. Which should rule out Southgate. I also read that he himself does not want to leave until after the 2022 world cup as well.

Which is a bonus. We should not be looking at Southgate.

I personally don’t even think he’s the right manager for England let alone Spurs.
