Two minor trophies?

Christ, who on earth do you think we are? A few Top 4 finishes under Poch and some nice football and we suddenly think we’re fucking Bayern.

We are a bog standard cup team with a big London fan base and a nice stadium. There’s absolutely nothing unique about us. I’d fucking love to see us lift the FA cup or Europa.

Serious delusion.
There's definitely a case to make that our fanbase has gotten spoiled in the last few years.

Just look at every transfer thread and this thread. We're arguing semantics over and over.

with our recent relative success we have definitely become picky and spoiled.

When I was reading I thought about Lucas right off the bat. I think he would thrive under this guy
I like how much his attackers seem to move when not having the ball. Midfielders and wingers trading positions but still operating in relative closeness to the striker to allow link up play sounds great. Our attack has been so stagnant for years now despite putting up good numbers.

I don’t think it’s fascination, just acknowledgement of how his teams play, and the fact he is pretty much the best we can get at the moment. Who else would realistically come to us at the moment? Ten Hag possibly, but he is also unproven apart from a decent run to the semis of the CL

It’s take what you can at the moment and Potter ticks a few boxes
If Potter is the best we can get then it just validates the point that our ownership is not good enough.

We're not Man Ure if you and others haven't noticed, Remember not so long ago Man Ure blew out a better competition than these to go on a glorified friendly on the other side of the World.

£420 million spent to win a competition City pick up as an appetiser and one that none of the big teams are even in.

Go and try and explain to me how the biggest club in the World winning these two trophies, the season after winning the FA Cup mind, is a reflection of great Mourinho achievement which after all was the original argument.

I want potter because I watch Brighton regularly and I’m almost always impressed by their attacking patterns and organisation. They are 90% let down by the shitness of their individual parts not the sum of them. If potter translates their patterns and style to much higher quality players the limit is very very high. If they had Kane they would be above us. You better believe it.

I saw them clearly outplay us, Liverpool and United just by memory. And even completely shut down the chavs a few days ago.

Potter for me , when I watch Brighton play it's just remarkable they're in the bottom 6 , they play excellent fluid football but falter when converting gilt edge chances .

This would suggest Potter is doing a fantastic job on the training pitch getting his game plan over to the players but his strikers are not doing the job .

Potter has transformed Brighton from the CH era into a good team to watch , with better quality players this bloke would make any squad a better footballing outfit imo of course .

Brighton have him on a 6 year contract which by any standard is a long one , I'm not even sure he'd want to come here anyway when he has job security like he has now as there's no way we would give him more than 3 years .

I do rate him , maybe too much but I've a feeling Potter will end up at a really big club , and possibly the England manager , he's a perfect fit for that job already .

I still wouldn't rule out Rodgers. He hasn't said he doesn't want to come and looking at the Celtic fans responses on twitter, he said similar things when he was their manager before jumping ship to Leicester.

Ah, ok. Fair enough. Well I wasn’t thinking about Jose at all.

They didn’t spend £420 million to win those two trophies. They spent £420 because they’re the biggest team in the world, with a decorated history that demand success. They now sit second, will add to that squad this Summer and may well challenge for the title next year.

My point was that we are in absolutely zero position to call any trophy ‘minor’.

UTD are. Not us.
