Anyway, if we like ten Hag and feel he suits the project the club wants to pursue then just fucking sign him.

In Poch, Conte, and ten Hag, we're not just dithering over three different managers, that's three entirely different visions of the basic setup, and laughably seemingly three different jobs in which to situate ultimate authority on transfers (for Poch it would be the manager, for Conte it would be his Juventus buddy in some yet-undefined role, and for ten Hag I guess it would be Hitchen).

None of which really betters seeing the players first hand and interacting with them in person.

What you are talking about is essentially cursory scouting, do you really want a manager reshaping the squad based on a few videos?

If you do then fair enough, but I cant say it fills me with confidence.

I dont believe any manager coming in will do much differently if its tomorrow or two weeks away, I do think the Euros will essentially stall that kind of progress.

In which case all the bed wetting on here (not necessarily you, theres plenty of it) seems rather unecessary
A new manager is not going to need a month on the training ground to figure out that Moussa Sissoko is a donkey who can't pass the ball or that Eric Dier is no better than a traffic cone. Yes, having more information via training sessions and personal meetings is a better thing than not, but it's not something we need in every case.

You're also only talking about outgoings when one of the key things a new manager will do is bring in new players. A new manager (and hopefully a new DOF) will be spending a lot of time figuring out who they want to bring in and who they can bring in. This requires a ton of analysis, negotiation, etc. and it's stuff that can all be happening right now.

Guess what, other clubs don't take holiday while the Euros are going on. Every day that passes without a manager means the new person has less time to be ready for the season.

Gold in his live chat on the manager:

Mauricio Pochettino is the top choice but how gettable he is depends on whether the Argentine makes a real push to get out of PSG and also his relationship with Leonardo will define matters. Tottenham aren't giving up yet but they can't hang around forever. I know Erik ten Hag is another manager Spurs really like and Antonio Conte will certainly be an attractive option. He's a terrific manager and available without compensation, but the question for Spurs would be just how much he can achieve without the huge financial backing he's had elsewhere. We can all dream, but the reality is that he won't get those hundreds of millions to spend at Tottenham and if that's the case how frustrated would he get and how quickly? Conte's average is about two years at each club and that's with a lot of money to shape his teams how he wanted them. He left Inter because they couldn't financially back him any more. I think he's one of the best managers in the world but would he and this current Tottenham be a good fit without the proper funding?
Basically sounds like Levy finally admitting Poch worked miracles on a shoestring. And he's hoping to persuade him to try and do it all over again

Actually not only talking about outgoings, perhaps not clear, but really that needs to be agreed before incomings are identified.

Its unlikely we'll know who/what we want to buy without knowing first where the gaps are in the squad.

And Im not saying a month on the training ground either, only that itll be around a month before the Euros are over (final July 11th I believe) - and its unlikely any manager will have access to players then.

Although I assume theyll go straight off on holidays, so maybe even August before Pre Season starts? (honestly have no idea)

You are right, there are some very obvious moves just about anyone will know from the off, low hanging fruit if you will, but I dont see that they make much difference in the scheme of things.

Getting into the bones of the squad to understand how you want to work with, who suits your ideals and who is on board with the plan is key - THEN you get to fill in the gaps.

Guess what, these other clubs you're talking about are ones with established managers who know what they need and have likely been working on it for months. Not a luxury we have.

I'd be sick, especially when we end up with Scott Parker.

My concern is with the anger that Levy will be facing with all the Poch, and to a lesser extent Conte, rumours that he will look at someone like Parker because he will assume the fans love him and will be less likely to boo or show anger at the appointment.

Even if we do end up with Poch or Conte the way this has been handled is still shit. There is no reason we shouldn't have made the decision and made the necessary moves to bring in the guy they want.

This is just guessing. Who can claim they know that? Must be pure bullshit.
Which ones do you believe we're asked for by gaffers. Ndombele wasn't Poch's choice. Lo Celso was a compromise because we could get him on loan with option to buy at a discounted price. Doherty was a compromise because Aurier was crap and Levy said you have a small budget. Seas was a compromise because we needed a left back and he was young enough to be profitable. Clarke was similar to Seas. Bergwjin, Bale, Rodon and Vini are all Levy and his troops choices. Granted Hart and Fernandes were Jose stuff ups. But majority of the players are bought to fill a gap.

Its the reason, I believe, we will not easily see Conti running our team. He believes he should be allowed what he needs to do his job. Same applies for Zidane, Ancelloti, Pep..... Etc. We will never have serial Trophy winners succeed because we have a chairman who wants to choose the manager, decide who his players must be, decide which players get to play, decide if they can or not be sold, I won't be surprised if he decides what underwater they must wear.

The amount of time this is taking all points to Poch. I'm sure we know what it takes to get ten Hag out of his Ajax contract at this point. Conte is there for free and could just sign now.

Poch is the one that is complicated. With it taking this much time, seems clear he's our first choice.

I personally wish we had announced ten Hag day after the season, but I'll be very happy with Poch if it can get done.

We will have finances if Kane is sold along with some of the dead wood... for Conte to use. Surely he already knows the score with our budgeting. We'd get over 200 million for Kane Ndomble, GLC.

I honestly can't believe we've been managerless for over 40 days. This club was in the Champions league final 2 years ago. What a catastrophic demise of a club. Hitchen's in charge of leading the scouting for a new manager. hahaha. Shocking
