After many years of keeping mine, even when not living in U.K. I did the same a couple of years back.
What did you make of the new stadium experience. Have to say, I didn’t completely gel with it. Apart from not loving the exterior design, getting up (and down) from my seat took fucking ages, my view of opposite screen (from north upper) was obscured by that gantry/hanging flood lights/ it took just as long as ever to get food/beers and I fucking hated those three strips of blinding neon advertising constantly flashing on each side. Why the fuck you need three lines of it flashing the same advertisement is anyone’s guess.
Well I don't mind the visual of the exterior. The inside is "nice".
I was in the 1882 section so any atmosphere was limited to big games. One time the bloke next to me nodded off!
Those ribbons of advertising definitely are jarring when they all suddenly change colour.
Getting to my seat wasn't too bad. I come in from Northumberland Park (normally) up the steps just as you get onto Worcester Avenue. In through the first turnstile, up a couple of flights and then the seat was about 15 steps up from the entrance to the stand. 3 seats in from the end, so not too bad for getting out.
The TFC collective used to meet at the top of the West Stand in the Dispensary, so I know what the trek up the stairs to the gods is like. That IS a long way up.
The main reasons I let it go were:
1 - Cost.
2 - My daughters started coming with me so I had to try to get the TO to relocate me and find seats together.
3 - At the time members tickets were easily obtainable. I never failed to get 1 or 2. Even for NLD's etc.
4 - Minimum 9 hour days to watch a game.
5 - The football had turned to shite.
6 - I had requested to relocate but wasn't granted it. Then later in the season the club sold half season tickets in an area I would have preferred to sit in.
