All in all we pulled out a good performance. Probably our best attacking setup in a while and for periods we held up pretty well against the best team in the world right now.
Vitinha was just Vitinha and our defense made some clear errors. But I do think that there's something here for them to build on.

Not my decision to make but haven’t been too impressed so far. We have bought a load of over priced shit over the last few years especially in the attacking areas which of course isn’t helping. Injuries also are a factor affecting our creativity. Having said that he strikes me as being too pragmatic especially at home. It seems that the double pivot doesn’t work and that it is almost like he sets us up to counter attack and I am not sure how you do that with poor decision makers in the final third and Richarlison’s glaring lack of pace up front. Time to give the youngsters in midfield a bit more of a consistent go and stick with Kolo Muani for a while. Overall we played with much more purpose last night but let ourselves down at crucial moments which PSG punished. I Think if we can find a holding midfielder with a combination of a real physical presence and athleticism to sit in front of the defence it would also make a massive difference.
It’s just my feeling being at the stadium. My son, a Liverpool supporter, was with me at the match. He says the same thing.
You were whining when things were good and mediocre as well - you never stop along with a small minority.
Fair and honest view although I would question the over priced shit comment. We are very quick to blame players... players who we are all genuinely excited about when we sign them. Everyone was gushing over the Kudus and Simons signing... Simons in a particular... the fanfare when we signed Palhinha on loan was something else. Roll forward five months and they can't all be shit. I have a theory, that the Spurs shirt is like kryptonite. Only the absolute best (Son, Bale, Kane, Modric, Van der vaart) can wear it without their game falling off a cliff. Think about it... remove those five and can't think of any over major singing that has even lived up to their billing...

They were all freak goals. It is genuinely mad that it happened 4 times. But the fact they scored 5 and we had a higher Xg tells you something was off.
I actually think all 3 of ours were better team goals, although obviously not as easy on the eye as Vitinha's
Yeah agreed.
Aside from a couple of really poor defensive mistakes, we gave a very good account of ourselves with the players available. I give Frank top marks for that.

What should concern us, and Frank especially, is why we don't see that level of commitment generally. It does support the idea on here that we have a malaise at the club that needs to be broken.

In our current available MFers, I'd go JP, and then two of Berg, Sarr and Gray to start every game. And add Kulu to those three when he's back. Pls leave Seargent Plodder out of things.
They are not the best team in the world. Chavs dicked them in the world club cup and I doubt this lot would lay a glove on Woolwich.
This is why I get so angry with jobsworth refs trying their absolute hardest to rule out goals these days. The game needs more goals, not less.

PSG - played well, tactics mostly fine and not cowardly against the CL winners. We could easily have gotten a draw even a win without individual errors. Play this against most teams we will win as PSG have outstanding quality .
Woolwich - cowardly tactics that were also useless (2 in the middle) and players not fighting.
Both defeats but PSG could have been something else. If you watched jsut the PSG game you would have a lot of hope for the future, if you watched the Woolwich game you would think we where fucked.

Spurs definitely need to go for the initiative more, especially in those circumstances when we need to UP the tempo and momentum in our favour to get an equaliser. Easier said than done though against one of the best teams in the world
For years with the CL you always seem to have the chance of a game to be more open and higher scoring.
Our QF with Man City a prime example. 4 goals in the first 11 minutes. Absolute madness.
Bent should be replaced by a top level, tough, ball-carrying no8.
I think goal 2 was avoidable, Bentancur inexplicably turns side on rather than fronting the shot and the ball goes through where his chest should have been.
Then two goals from bad/rash decisions from Romero, doing Romero things. Not the first time he's handballed like that with his arm raised above his head. He's clearly not learning any lessons.
The corner was scrappy and Sarr should have just smashed it away.
Only one of their goals wasn't avoidable and it's a thundercunt strike in off the bar from 25 yards.
Nothing was down to the system or tactics. And we even looked half decent when we attacked.
Still didn't stop the usual dinlows pointing the finger at Frank like trained seals.
What I took from the game wasn't anything I didn't already know. These players are flakey and will let you down time and time again.
They beat AFC home and away in last seasons semi final, doofus.
