Player R.I.P Gary Brooke

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

So sad to hear this today. He was a really nice guy, I've got a photo with him, when he won the SSC Young Player of the Year. Shame that his accident ended his career with us. RIP Garry :(

Very sad. I remember his performance at wham sometime in 1982 in a 2-2 evening draw at their place, where he scored our first. Me and 3 others crapping ourselves in the North Bank unable to celebrate his (and Hoddle's goal). Very much one of us.

RIP, Garry.

( Admin Admin , with respect to the OP maybe you can change his name in the post title?).

That’s very sad news and no age at all.

Tough for him to get regular game time at Spurs as we had a high quality midfield then. When he did come on, however, he always gave everything. Tenacious player with a wicked shot and a true Spur. RIP.

Shame the players couldn't have put in a performance worthy of his memory yesterday...
I assume most if not all of them had a clue who he was...

And that's maybe part of the problem.
No sense of occasion or History now...

Rest in Peace Garry...

A player from an era when there DID USED TO BE A CLUB OVER THERE!

I’m ashamed to say that I’ve just seen this .

He was the quintessential Spurs player of his era ; smart , gifted , technically talented , fleet of mind and foot , brave and abounded with energy; and never let us down .

He was perfect for us .

Younger than me .

RIP .

I remember that game. One was a pen, was that because he was on a hat trick? i didnt think he was the penalty taker. Helluva shot on him tho
I also remember that game cos a Coventry supporting mate who lived in London wanted to go, said he'd drive us up, fine.

He obviously hadn't been to too many matches in his life, or at least not driven to them. We parked up to the NW of the ground other side of the tracks. Lad comes up on his bike "Look after your car for 50p mate"; "Actually I think we'll be fine thanks"
Me: "Actually we won't! Here's your 50p sonny".

Happy days, a sunny 4-0 on the shelf, he kept his gob shut and the car had no scrapes and he learnt a life lesson

Last time I went to Anfiled ditto. Still cheaper than the industrial sites that transmogrify into match parking for up to 20quid!
