This problem is on the club.

If there were sections for “singing” supporters to generate an authentic atmosphere nobody would care about tourists.

If anything tourists would be more encouraged to learn the songs to enhance their own experience of the game.

There's quite a few stoney faced Gammons who SIT in the Paxton, West Stand and parts of the South who could ALSO bother to contribute to the atmosphere...
Rather than sit, moan, and tell the person in front to pipe down!!
...and not one of them a tourist!!

Personally, I think there should be a Singing section (South stand, naturally), a tourist section (East Upper, good overview for the photo ops)

...and a GAMMON section, where all the moaners can sit, arms crossed moan and tut and bitch to eachother, out of earshot of the rest of us!

i feel like since we got this flag in the top left corner the club gets worst each year since its there
ps: dont have a problem with rainbow and stuff but iam too dumb to understand what sexual orientation and football have in common

I think the flag is a welcome change. In the very near past we use to sing homophobic songs about players we didn't like. Its important that as a club we state this was unacceptable and we now welcomed all people

When we played Newcastle after the Sheik bout them, we were reported for qouting lines from ‘Life of Brian.’

When we explained it to the steward who came to reprimand us, he replied ‘what’s Life Of Brian?'

We also complained loudly that it was a hate crime against the British sense of humour, haven’t heard from the grass since.

I guess your definition of rich is key to this as well. I think anyone with more than £100m has probably got more than enough to get by.

If a footballer came out as gay I think it would be a massive nothing burger. In England at least. Honestly 99% of people wouldn’t care. They’d get more abuse for being ginger or having a shit haircut with weird eyes (Anthony Gordon I’m looking at you here).

I think perversely, any comments they did receive from the very odd Neanderthal moron would end up getting amplified by the media. Likely with the intent to expose it (also for the clicks) but also unfortunately be just as likely to incentivize trolls to try and get the same attention.

But I can’t agree with you they would get next to no abuse at matches.

The line is complicated for sure. I wonder if it’s even possible to be a billionaire on your own without owning a corporation.

Still, it’s not like those individuals haven’t paid any tax. In most countries the top 10% of earners pay somewhere between 70-80% of the total tax revenue. And taking more from them doesn’t solve the root problem and the amount of extra money you bring in won’t stop the runaway train of spiralling government debt.

You give these governments more money from individuals, billionaires or not, they aren’t going to miraculously start balancing the budget and spending responsibly. And they aren’t going to stop acting in the best interest of global corporations before their own citizens.

Just my opinion obviously but I don’t think taxing the rich is the boon most people think it is.
