I agree about the fritters.My dad use to make em for us on occassion at home.I had school dinners in the 1960's . Trust me, they were revolting, except for sometimes when we had spam fritters, chips & baked beans. Oh My God! Lovely!
Apparently Iceland do a 4-pack for £2.50. Oven bake. I am sooo going to buy some.
I had school dinners from 73-79 at primary school,never bothered at secondary school.They were superb.Best fish n chips ever was the ones i had at school.Luck of what school you went to/area you lived in ,i suppose.

Hertford Grammar, aka Richard Hale - the food was shit.
My mate went there,when it was Richard hale.
i was at Cranbourne on the 100acre in Hoddesdon,as said food was superb.
Never bothered when i went to John Warner,for some reason.Don't think the food was as good though.
