Player Radu Dragusin

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Thought Att the injury looked nasty .. his knee moved a good inch and a half poss 2 inches to the side and his lower leg stayed static..or was it visa versa either way DOUBLE OUCH! Tbh I was surprised the medical team let him carry on .. but that's footballers for you add the adrenaline and that they rarely voluntarily want to come off and the desire to win you ain't exactly got an easy willing patient.but really the medics imo should have insisted, not sure a stretcher would have been appropriate but any fresh wound isn't helped by instant use...sooner it settles down the better, can't think of any reason walking or playing on it would have been a good thing... Perhaps I'm wrong?

Chances of him fully recovering before 2026 are slim.

I'm not sure what to make of this. On the one hand, ACL tears are no longer the career death sentences that they once were, and Dragusin in particular is still young enough to fully bounce back. On the other hand, they're still among the most serious injuries a player can possibly have, and this is especially the case for a guy who's not the most physically gifted to begin with. Could be a big blow to his career at top level for this reason alone.

It wasn’t the standing leg that he injured. He hyperextended his knee kicking the ball.

It looked innocuous tbh

One small (tiny) mercy for him is that it's not a major international tournament year. Hopefully he can come back strong enough to regain his place in the national team.

Don’t be obtuse. Played and played and played because there was no one else. When it came to his “rest” he was dragged off the bench yet again as the club had been so fucking slow to get a CB as replacement

15 minutes later….

lol that's not really how it works, he's made 28 appearances this season, if we're saying a Centre back needs a rest after 28 appearances in case he may to his fucking ACL then we may as well give up signing players.

Players doing their ACL's is just pure bad luck, nothing to do with overplaying.

I'm confused. Did one of the backroom staff wear an invisibility cloak and smash Dragu in the knee while he contested for the ball near the sideline late in the game against Elfsborg?
Overplaying creates muscle weakness. Muscle weakness increases the prospect of getting major injuries such as ACL.

Squad management requires more than 3 CB’s over a season.

So the club is to blame imho. Don’t need any agree. It’s what it is.

Stuff happens ; regardless of whose making any decisions.

Hopefully 9 mths tops and no everlasting damage.

Most importantly; he comes back fully recovered with no limitations.

We’re lucky he’s one of ours .

Peter Schmeichel (european champion with Denmark in 1992, interviewed by "Gazeta Sporturilor" (Romania):
about Radu Dragusin... "I think he is a talented player, I have no doubt. The problem he has is that he became a starter all of a sudden! I don't think he was ready for that."

"Tottenham had a lot of injured players. And he has become one of those who control the defense. Their goalkeeper is injured, the two central defenders are injured, the right back is injured. What can he do?! I'm sorry he got injured, but he'll learn from it. Everything that goes against you, if you are smart and talented enough, will help you learn. "OK, I didn't do that well, so I'll do it like that next time." I hope he comes back on the field even stronger," says Schmeichel

Radu Drăgușin (23 years old) will not play at all in the current Premier League season, following an anterior cruciate ligament injury in his right knee. The central defender will undergo surgery and will be out for at least six months.

Im glad he signed a long term deal. He's got 5 or 6 years to go with 85k a week.

Weve already seen Sandro, Wilson, Wanyama and Bentancur lose their careers. With Micky Van der Ven highly doubtful to come back the same player IMO. Romero and Udogie remains to be seen.
