Rules Referees & Impartiality: Can this be delivered on a consistent basis?

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

We could be playing a Putin all stars team with the fate of humanity at stake, and still the corrupt officials wouldn't give us a break such is their hatred for all things Tottenham.

FWIW, I think it’s probably that the refs aren’t really that sharp and don’t realise that they are not just ‘reffing a match’ but that the reputation of the whole league depends upon their consistencies and inconsistencies. Their standards, what they are, are linked to ‘can I justify the decision I’ve made today’ rather than ‘is it clear that I am upholding the standards and expectations of the league?’.

It’s just a horrible job and I imagine most aren’t up to it.

The worrying thing is that they're not even trying to hide the bias/corruption/double standards.

But no one is calling it out - no one in the media gives a toss when it's right in front of them because it's not happening to their favourite club, just a club that they don't like anyway.

Absolutely mate. They are fully naked

In the past there was always enough grey area and benefit of the doubt there to second guess anyone’s suspicions,

They are so far out in the open with it that it’s coming off like they want us to know they are doing it and that there’s nothing we can do about it.

They’ve forgotten that the fans pay these refs wages. They probably need to be reminded at some point…

Its very close if you understand normal english. i said clattenburg said he wanted leicester to win the league. Leicester player claims clattenburg said he wants leicester to win the league. 🤷🤷

No, you said this.

He said that refs favoured Leicester because they didnt want to stop the dream of underdigs winning title.

Yeah so clattenburg said to a leicester player i want ye to win it

A Leicester player claimed that yes, not even close to what you were saying he said. In fact - the Leicester player doesnt even remember exactly what he said.

You made out like Clattenberg, himself, was quoted as saying refs favoured Leicester - which, as you have now confirmed, is bollox.

i said clattenburg said Leicester were favoured. Clattenburg tells leicester player he wants them to win it. Cant be any clearer if you cant work that out tgats on you. Its exactly what i said!!why would simpson make it up. Clearly not bollox as we see now.

The dream for the PGMOL and PL is handing the title to scum...and then making sure we are relegated.

The way Banks shouts after the blatant dive from Gabriel that it's a foul end of is frankly ridiculous, it's 100% corruption not incompetence in my view as VAR also with their videos also conclude the same.

Everyone going on rightly about the Etikite goal as well, but don't forget the Gabriel goal he scored in a 1-0 win over us when they were not very good at all, and of course that was a push on Romero at a corner.

I can't speak for every team in the league but lets just make a comparison between Woolwich and Tottenham 2 teams most of us know a lot about and watch regularly. Its a fact this season that Tottenham and Woolwich are both being refereed totally different. Its actually got ridiculous and to the stage where someone at the club really needs to call this out. There is countless evidence to provide.

1) The obvious one. RKM goal disallowed against Woolwich. Wilson goal stands yesterday. There was a far more visible push on Dragusin then there was on Gabriel. Do the referees think Dragusin needs to be stronger? But when Gabriel goes down its soft but hey 2 hands on the back. Does Dragusin have a reputation of being shit so you can just foul him and get away with it but Gabriel has a reputation of being one of the best box defenders in the league so any foul on him must be given? Lets not foget Ekitike goal stood when he pushed romero. Romero goal against west ham was dissallowed for an even lesser push. 4 decisions where the 2 most obvious pushes were the goals given against us. The 2 lesser pushes were our goals disallowed. If all 4 goals were given or disallowed then I could live with is but the outcome was ridiculous.

2) Bentancur penalty versus Newcastle. I mean what the fuck was all this about? Show footage of the Woolwich Chelsea game yesterday where atleast 4 Woolwich players were doing exactly what Bentancur was doing from the same corner. Rice even managed to handball it because his arms were up in the air wrestling the chelsea player. No pen given. Another corner later in the game where Raya appeared to punch Pedro, but my eyes were again drawns to all the Woolwich players grabbing chelsea shirts. Thats only 2 corners i zoomed in on yesterday. I imagine this is Woolwich defending every single corner and no punishment? But Bentancur got punished for less back in early December and the knock on effect this has had has been terrible because our players are now petrified to grab shirts at corners. Meanwhile Woolwich can do it every single time. Its simply injustice.

3) There is a clear bias against Romero. The PGMOL have just decided he's a headcase and look to have instructed referees to punish him at all costs. Lets just imagine that was Romero's arm that hit the ball yesterday instead of Declan Rice. Its a penalty every day of the week. Lets remember Gabriel avoiding a blatant second yellow against Brentford - romero walks there every time. I'm not defending Romero, its his own fault he's got this reputation. But the bias against him now is crazy. If he went down like Gabriel did against Spurs for the RKM goal, no referee in the country would give him the benefit of the doubt as we already saw with the Ekitike goal back in December.

4) Penalties. We just don't get them. I see Woolwich get penalties for stuff that we could never even dream of getting a penalty for. It has gotten to the stage where the fans and players don't even bother appealing for a penalty anymore. Referees just don't give us any. Its not a coincidence. It can't be. The correlation is too high.

5) Simons red against Liverpool. What the fuck was all that about? We saw Dalot go in with far more force against City and no red. Ofcourse Romero got a red then weeks later for similar. But that Simons one was ridiculous. He was suspended then for the whole festive period when we were already down players. Joke. No apology from PGMOL. Just a big fuck you even though we've seen far worse every week since. Just terrible. No chance any Woolwich player gets a red in the same scenario.

6) Raya gets protection Vicario doesn't. I've seen Woolwich get quiet a few frees when Raya has ended up on the deck. Vicario has a reputation of being soft and is allowed to be fouled at every set piece. We've just accepted this as normality but its not normal and other teams get far more leeway then we do!

We've been shit. We can't have any excuses if we do go down. But football is about momentum and we've been screwed so many times by referees that its impossible to gain momentum. Just imagine that RKM goal stands and it goes 2-2 last week? totally different game, who knows! Imagine Romero and Simons were not suspended for all these games? Imagine the Fulham goal didn't stand yesterday? If the newcastle penalty wasn't given and we had a huge away win at st james park? Imagine Simons stayed on the pitch against Liverpool and we beat them? Imagine if we just had some big decisions actually go our way? We've lost multiple games by a single goal - in fact nearly all our defeats this season was by 1 goal. Imagine we actually got some of these soft penalties that we often have go against us? Football is all momentum and right now we need the refs to stop screwing us and actually give us a fair fight. And stop letting Woolwich away with murder every week too! Ref us both to the same standards!!

Unbelievable. So many instances of them possibly getting sent off but 2nd yellow rule never applies to them. The fact those scum seem to know they are immune should be telling. They know they are protected. Rice and Gabriel, when booked, would often laughed it off. They knew they won't get a 2nd yellow.

On socials you see fans across the board calling it out. Even when it has nothing to do with their team. Everyone can see how bent they in full view

The nightmare scenario about playing Palace next is that the PGMOL cannot give a big decision against them on Thursday now. Even though they 100% owe us, I imagine Palace will get priority. Its easy to screw us. Everyone in the media enjoys it. We see regular backlash against all these decisions but not when its spurs. Its funny when its spurs
