no, but we don't have to be in the PL to be bought..... you know that right?
I feel you're being obtuse.

We'd be in the championship with around £600m of debt. Overnight we'd have gone from being a money making machine to a money draining sinkhole.

If you don't think that massively reduces the pool of interested or able buyers then I don't know what else to say.

He doesn’t lose money when revenue drops, possibly a lower salary or smaller bonus but that’s not confirmed

His major payout happens when he sells
Exactly, he will be forced to sale because the revenue cannot keep up with the cost. Only way to do that is go back in top 4 of the PL but that is harder said than done.

If they don't make any money, they will sell. its simple. Its obviously clear they are not passionate about winning or anything,

And if that happens.. you think Levy will drown in debt and go down with it?

Someone will buy it if that happens. Someone who can. It always happens that way.

Does it?

And what would the end result be? Being broke and thrashing around the championship for the next fuck knows how many years? What would we, as fans, gain from that? We've cured the disease but at what cost to the patient.

If someone can afford to buy us to sink money in a black hole in the championship then they can afford to do so now. I'd rather they just did that if we're talking about fantasy outcomes.

I dont know, but our current TV rights are like £150m including equal share and merit payments

Year 1 the parachute payment is something like £40m and TV rights £2m. So we've lost £110m right off the bat. Year two would be worse, and again year three.

Do Nike and AIA have relegation break clauses in their deals? If they were smart they do. We could be in a world of pain, and you know ENIC wouldn't put any money.

That's before we lose the match day revenues, the day trippers, the insane queues outside the club shop. Then there's a stadium debt which is loose change to a Premier league club but would be crippling to a championship club.

We'd need a fire sale of players, most of them would want out and nor could we afford them even if they wanted to stay.

It might be more "pure" and fun to begin with but if we get sucked down there we might not come back up for years. And it wouldn't rid us of ENIC. There's no real upside to it.

When you put it like that!

😂😂😂😂

Levy and Lewis have a ridiculous perception of worth, they don’t understand the value of anything, which is why we haven’t been sold in the past.

66/1 to go down ...seems very generous when you look at how shit are recent form has been
There will be a lovely cash out on that if we keep losing. I’d never bet on us getting relegated but to any pro gambler looking at the current form would take those odds now and cash out if/when the odds shorten should this run continue.
We won’t get relegated. I’m worried but I think there are fortunately 3 teams worse than us over a season.
66/1 is very generous though.

Its not a fantasy outcome. If someone buys us it mean they have immense capital, so money shouldn't be that much of a problem going forth because we are considered a big club and we have the fanbase and infrastructure for it.

Problem is winning. If you want to stay in this mediocrity for the rest of your life... so be it.
I want to see my club win and be glorious before I die. I don't want to be whining about Levy and top 4 all my life..

That is like being a Clipper fan. Yuck.

You're saying I champion mediocrity because (checks notes) I don't want to (checks notes) get relegated?

This is probably the most backwards conversation I've ever had.

If there's a buyer out there with all the capital in the world then they can buy us right now. I'm all for it. We don't need to be relegated for that to happen. Why does your fantasy outcome of a mega rich new owner involve relegation?

And for the record I have no idea what a clipper is. Is it one of those netball teams Americans like so much?

You are still not getting the point.

You are saying no matter what relegation cannot happen. You don't care if we win or not and who would by a relegated team? blah blah.

My stance is, if a change is needed... so be it. No pain ,no gain. I don't think a poor as bloke would be able to buy Tottenham and make it worse than it is...like you think.

Oh btw, that netball team is worth more than Tottenham and they are the worst basketball team in history....

Yeah its a nonsense this thread. Its way too dramatic and beyond reality but fans are so frustrated and lost that they've gone beyond sense and I can't fault them. We all greave differently I guess.
It's not beyond reality though is it? It's highly unlikely but the only thing saving us is the current bottom 4 are so poor that it's not likely they'll pick up many more points, because we also don't look even vaguely like picking up many more ourselves. The form table for the last 4, 5, 6, 10 games has us firmly in the bottom 3. This is beyond a blip now. We've averaged 0.5 points a game over the last 10.

It would only take a minor upturn in form from Ipswich or Leicester to cause us trouble. Like I said, highly unlikely but to say impossible? It isn't.

Sunday will tell us where we are. Absolutely trounce Leicester and I'll agree that it's skirting the realms of impossible. They beat us? We're in trouble.

Obviously not impossible sure nothing is but we are taking under 2% likely. According to bookies odds it's less than 1% likely. Its dramatic to be going on about it but I understand fans are just freaking out at how bad things currently are and I think discussing relegation just helps them vent about this team
