The irony for me is that there isn’t a more punitive clause wrt reducerad earnings in the case of Vinai and Lange . By rights they should get a 90 % reduction if the unthinkable happens. In fact even that could be considered generous imo .
If I were Vinai or Lange I would simply resign out of shame and decency.

They won't though because these people live in a different world to us mere plebs

I doubt they'd not notice it, but assume they'd all shrug it off as almost impossible that it would actually ever be invoked.

Well, how the turn tables

And it really started with not backing Poch for three windows, before CL final.

This is the price of one person putting their ego before the club.

I don't know.

I might argue that Pochettino/us not winning the PL when we had the best set of players, or not winning a trophy at all started this decline. Constant failure when it matters rhe most has become our emblem. That in itself is a big worry for the next 10 weeks or so.

Who knows for sure but regardless of all that, this squad has no place being in 15th, except that we are.

Surviving and resetting is all this poster cares about. The past can not be undone, but we all agree various mistakes have and must have been made to get us to this point.

9 huge PL games to go..

Didn’t really mean they wouldn’t physically see it, just that they wouldn’t see it come to fruition.

I’d be surprised if any sporting lawyer or agent would even consider allowing it in a contract no matter how unlikely it would be . They are getting paid to protect the player

I’m watching Derby v Sheffield Wednesday at the moment , at least the commentators are better than any of the ones in the prem 😊

Someone from the ownership needs to meet with the players asap to make this clear. It’s the only thing that will probably motivate them.
At this point I don't even know what it is. Lack of motivation, or confidence maybe?

I don't know how you can't be motivated for this. Who the fuck wants to be part of the team that got relegated? Players dont want to lose games as it is. But this is a stain on their professional careers.

Or how you can lack confidence when you're 1-0 up at home and panic like that?

Although even if ownership makes it clear, you just know their agents will be reassuring them that they can find a way to get them out.

It was originally reported by Ornstein, who’s not one for bullshit and is now being widely reported elsewhere.

Spurs being in the top flight for nearly 50 years, the likelihood of relegation would have seemed pretty slim.

Why wouldn't they consider it? Do any of us know what would be in a contract like that? For all we know it might be normal.

Also don't agents have a vested interest in getting a deal like that completed? Relegation would've been seen as so unrealistic that they might've approved the deal anyway because it would make them all richer and they couldn't find a better contract anywhere else.

Not investing from a position of strength is what done us.

Replacing good with mediocrity, and Levy expecting managers to perform miracles with a sacks of shit.

Relying on Son and Kane to carry the whole team.

I think it's insane to think that not winning anything Poch was a bad thing. As the point was, we was actually competing at the top end and when you do complete at the top end you have a much greater chance to win something.

Having a flash for 2 years under one manager isn't a good thing.

Investing from a position of strength, and being competitive at the top would more than likely have resulted in more silverware and top quality players joining us.

Rather than relying on some fat Aussie twat lucking out on a cup, whilst nearly getting us relegated. And building a flakey shower of shit squad full of pathetic weak man babies.

tbh we really should be staying up especially when we get players back.

We'd have to be as bad as some of the worst teams in PL history for it to happen. If we're going to have the likes of Romero,Udogie,Kudus and Bergvall returning I find it hard to believe we will continue to be this poor. Especially with some of the fixtures like Leeds and Everton at home.

I get why people think it won't happen because of how poor our form is. But there have been teams in the past who were on similar bad runs who still turned it around. And they didn't have the luxury of being able to rely on better players coming back.
We’ve been saying that for ages (about getting players back). I’m not so sure. Injured players take time to get back to match sharpness

Funny thing is at old white hart lane we could have created a hostile ground for these games. The new stadium that was going to be the difference maker will be that in a different way then they thought. It’s easy for teams to come to, refs to give decisions against us. With a stadium and big open pitch like that you need to have a proper team you can’t wing it. That’s another thing they didn’t consider

Agents are only interested in the player not the club , them moving means another nice bonus for said agent . If an agent knew this 50% cut was in a contract & it happened they’d probably find themselves no longer the players agent . Think of it sensibly, you think any player in a supposed elite club would be happy at A) the wage drop B) Be willing to play in a 2nd tier league , jeopardizing their international & career as a whole

They’ll be transfer requests flying around like confetti
