Funny enough, I had a sneaky feeling we’d pick up something today. Dippers are in a rut too, figured they’d have one eye on Galatasary as well. It was set up for us with zero expectation. A free hit. Hopefully it ignites something now. We did show plenty of fight and stomach for the battle for the first time in a long time.

It was on the back of my mind too, ‘Beware of the Ides of March’. This weekend 41 years ago, 16 March 1985, I was in the away end at Anfield when we won there for the first time in 73 years, since 1912.

Yeah I watched them against galatasaray too and they should have got soundly beaten. It’s why I didn’t want us to throw this game like some were suggesting.

You put your best players out for Forest certainly. The change of formation has definitely helped. We play compact and get ourselves together.

We had chances today despite the lack of quality in the attacking players. Richy included, I don’t rate him as a player but in these moments he seems to run on indignation and can sometimes offer a spark. He was good enough today as all the other outfield players were

I thought it was much better in all respects.

Will he keep it or go back to three at the back next time though. That’s the big question for me. I reckon he wrongly goes back to default.

Our goal, coming as it did must have been a hammer blow (pardon the unintended pun) for the Hamners, and of course for Forest amd Leeds.

Next week against Forest is another day and another game, but at least we go back to our place with sonething to hold onto.

Just avoiding defeat before the international break would be a boost. Winning would be a bonus.

No point changing anything before the Forest game. Hate to say it, but it’s essential we rest Solanke and Richy mid week as the Forest game is simply so massive.

Against Forest we can field a strong team with VdV, Romero, Palhinha, Udogie, Gallagher all coming back to bolster the team that played yesterday at Liverpool.

The way Micky played in his last couple matches terrifies me. Such a good player but head is gone

I maintain it’s nothing more than a huge drop in confidence and form. We can’t drop him because of the injuries and badly built squad. If, hopefully, Tudor stays with the back four I would play him left back. It’s a less pressurised position than centre back. Let him have that release of responsibility there, let him have a few runs and carries of the ball out there and see if his confidence comes back.

I’ve never ever been a Richarlison fan, in fact, I’ve called for us to bin him every transfer window for the past 3 years. But the last few weeks, I have had the nagging thought that he might be the one to spearhead our survival charge. Despite the stress it causes me watching him try to control a ball, he’s one of the very few in the squad that I would never accuse of being an absolute shitebag.

If he scores the goals that keep us up, all will be forgiven.

And then I’ll ask once again that we flog him off to Saudi this summer (I actually probably wouldn’t given the lack of decent strikers out there at the moment)

All I wanted to see was some fight. Just show us that you want it.

It just goes to show what a poorer quality team can actually do with the right mentality. Pound for pound, today's starting group of players aren't as good as the opposition. But they fought, they worked together and stayed in the game.

I don't care about the midweek result, but take this fight into it, whatever happens, happens. Keep this momentum going.

Igor has BIG decisions to make. We looked more balanced in the 4-4-2 formation. And this group of players were definitely playing for him today.

The one differentiator between us, Wham and Forest has been desire. It’s looked like the majority of our players were either oblivious to the trouble the team are in or not too bothered.

That changed yesterday. I’m not going to get carried away but the team looked like they definitely cared. I think some of that comes from Richy, leading from the front. He’s never going to be the best CF we’ve seen, but he at least has passion.

If they can carry this attitude into the remaining games it gives us a chance. And if players coming back don’t have that desire, leave them out. There’s no room for them.
