Nah, the only thing is if De Zerbi can galvanise the players and if the players find resolve.

Anyone thinking De Zerbi in a short time can get the players playing how he ordinarily likes is kidding themselves.

It's all about the response to De Zerbi's presence.

The one small plus is that we have decent gaps between games.
he won't start really implementing his system but i bet he's a bit more on the front foot and lets them play. don't think we'll sit in a low block as much.

I'd expect quite a big change - far fewer long balls, players actually trying to pass it around and keep the ball, some playing out from the back when the time is right.

Basically De Zerbi-lite. Less of the inctricate risky passing from the back but the key possession principles in place.

If the players have the right mentality then we should be fine , but unfortunately Barbie has more fortitude than most of our players .

Wouldn't surprise me if we don't get back out of the bottom 3 .

Rider to those comments , I'm working on the theory of reverse phycology.

This tweet is just an engagement tactic. We are in the Premier League relegation zone in April for the first time in our history, but it purposefully doesn't tell you the PL has only been around since 1992 bit.

That's when they hope people point that out in the replies so their post gets more traction and exposure.

Best thing to do is to just ignore it rather than respond to it. Sadly this sort of thing is everywhere on social media now.

It's a main reason why I've come off social media. Basic 'wrong bait' is rife. It's the simpletons who don't get it make it so effective. Accurate content doesn't get reacted to in the same way, therefore isn't as "successful"

If we go down, I would say the main reason is, that we have too many players with a bad attitude.
And a board that let it happen and didn’t replace them?

I would say man reason is not addressing our attack in January. West Ham and Palace were struggling for goals and bought attackers. We instead of adding lost four through sales/loans/injuries

Everyone will be against us now. Siege mentality required.

DZ’s embargoed press conference worth a watch. One game at a time, Sunderland the focus. Made me quite relaxed and confident. He’s had lots of one on one meetings with the players, which I think is key. Wants us to attack and have the ball, also key. Wants to get the attackers on the ball because we need to win matches. Harks back to Ange early days as how he wants the defence to progress the ball. All made sense. If you’re panicking and getting knickers further in a twist then watch it.

BTW, this game was always bigger than the Forest game. It is 100% a must win.

The things that make the Premier League a slog that we would not have in the championship

VAR
Michael Oliver
Jarred Gillet
Alan Smith on commentary
Gary Neville saying “oooooh” everytime Romero blinks
Ref watch with Dermot
Woolwich cheating
Chelscum cheating
MOTD
Paul Merson

Since Sky cover the Championship I'm pretty sure they'll wheel out the big guns for our games.

We can probably kiss goodbye to sane Kickoff times forever as well.

Disclaimer: obviously I don't want to get relegated

Everything you said is true, but I think there is another side to that coin. Burnley, who had a significantly worse squad than us, got relegated a few seasons back then absolutely romped the Championship under Kompany. Newcastle had a great time down there under Benitez and came straight back up.

De Zerbi with, say, 60% of our current squad, our best youngsters, and a few signings, would be very very competitive in the Championship indeed. I'm not gonna get all cocky and say we'd definitely walk it, but we'd be in an extremely strong position compared to the teams that have gone down and struggled.

I think if we go down and come straight back up it will be remembered by fans as one of the most fun, memorable seasons in a long time especially in the wake of 2 years of constant losing in the league. A new dawn, integrating youth, winning games, playing teams we never normally play, etc.

Agree. But you’re forgetting something fundamental. We are Spurs, we don’t do the straight forward easy way.

Just like how unless we win soon we will be in this until the final game of the season. It will be a fucking slog. They’ll make it as torturous as possible for us.

Anyone else here just resigned to relegation? Unless De Zerbi pulls a huge f'kin rabbit out of the hat and gets something out of this useless non-performing bunch of wasters, which must be at least a point at Sunderland, then I think we're doomed. Wet Spam have form and easier games than us, and we don't know what a win even looks like.

I guess next season will be 'different'.

No. I can be negative at the best of times but I’m not a loser. Got to fight till the end.

I have been for a few weeks now.

If Leeds start winning then i think we're stuffed. They're the best hope as we have them to play so we have to win that and at least 2 others. I really cant see it being Forest and certainly not West Ham.
