I bet he wins the Europa. One more win in that and I think he gets to keep it.He did the same when he managed Woolwich in 2019 towards the end of the season. They lost 3 in a row and only won 1 out of their last 5.

Almost unbelievable, but 1971-72 Villa were in the old division 3.Yep, true.
I laughed when Villa and Newcastle went down because it was fascinating seeing a big club fall. I don't hate those clubs at all. Don't even dislike them but it's novel and something to rubberneck at.
Wanted Everton to go down as well for the same reasons. All three clubs carry a level of respect and are important to English football, but you have to enjoy huge unimaginable misfortune for them.
So totally understand why a neutral would want us to go down for a laugh. If we don't though it won't ruin their summer.
I was convinced we were doomed for months tbh. Not seen a Spurs team, and scarcely any team in PL history, that had as little fight, coherence and such awful injury luck as we did from about December to March. Thought RDZ, while clearly a good coach, would be too little too late.I honestly thought as soon as we went into the bottom 3 that would be it, we didn’t have the minerals to fight , still a long way to go yet but I’m impressed with the fight we are showing , RDZ is a special manager
Oh wow, yeah. Bottled top 4 and lost the Europa final. History couldn't repeat itself could it...He did the same when he managed Woolwich in 2019 towards the end of the season. They lost 3 in a row and only won 1 out of their last 5.
Crikey never knew they fell that far. Still though got good history. Last double winners for 64 years before us and European champions and pretty much always in the top flight. At England's top table for me.Almost unbelievable, but 1971-72 Villa were in the old division 3.
Are Villa and Newcastle really big clubs. Newcastle certainly are not. 1 trophy in 70 years. Plenty of time in the second division. Villa won the league and European cup 45 yrs ago and that’s about it apart from a couple of league cups. All we heard last season was that we hadn’t won a trophy for 17 years. Villa Havent won one for 30 years but have we heard it mentioned. Definitely not . The reason being that nobody cares .Villa and Newcastle getting relegated was seen as a big deal and very funny at the time (down south at least). I remember being at the Lane when we beat Newcastle 1-0 under Shearer and we were all singing "WE'LL NEVER PLAY YOU AGAIN".
Think it's basically the same for us but maybe twice the funniness/schadenfreude since we're bigger and richer than those clubs were at the time.
West Ham don't really come into the equation as they were a yo-yo club for so long that no-one outside London really cares what division they're in.
CBA to get into a boring 'big club' debate, but Newcastle and Villa going down was certainly huge news at the time. I would have those 2 and Leeds down as comfortably the three biggest relegations in PL history up until now.Are Villa and Newcastle really big clubs. You might be, but I certainly won't. As usual when those two bunch of nomads play each other, I'll be praying for a giant sinkhole to open up, sending them all to a fiery doom. So, we're cheering on Chelsea today, and Woolwich on Sunday?
I feel dirty.
The mindset of not getting relegated? We spent the last 25 years not challenging for the league as Levy had the same mindset as you.
Emery got that gooner stench off himself at Sevilla.Oh wow, yeah. Bottled top 4 and lost the Europa final. History couldn't repeat itself could it...
ChargeNo Europe. One game a week. Title push anyone? We couldn't, could we?
It's great to just feel a bit positive after a weekend for once tbh
I agree, I want Forest to go down, but I think it would be hilarious if they won the Europa too. There's no way a CL campaign can be managed with a 46 game season that has midweek fixtures. As much as I hate West Ham I’d rather Forest went down , revenge for MGW and them ultimately getting relegated because they played more games in a competition they shouldn’t have been in while the manager they sacked saves West Ham would be quite poetic!
Still as long as it’s not us I’ll be happy!
