I can recall the 1976/77 relegation season. It was the first year as a kid that I was brought to White Hart Lane. I can remember going to games against the likes of Bristol Rangers, Mansfield Town and Leyton Orient in the old Division 2. That was actually a fun season in a lot of ways and we came straight back up.

It is so utterly toxic now and the club has been in such a state of drift for so long, we deserved to be relegated. And maybe it might not be the worst thing in the world if we are, if it means a complete re-set.
That year in div 2 was probably the best year ever following spurs...unfortunately not for the football either..
.
🤔🤣🤣🤣

So, those two I agree on. Anyone else?

Their CBs are as good as ours. They are proven very good PL CBs.We just overrate ours with hype like crazy. Milenkovic and Murillo don't let Forest down like Romero does for us most weeks. and VDVs attitude stinks.

N Williams is a better LB than anything we can field. Sangare over Sarr or Bissouma any day of the week.

But Spurs fans will overrate our own players and ignore their players. Just the way it is.

I think it all depends on our injured players. Playing a back 3 we need Danso and Romero back and I would say Porro at RWB. We then need Kudas and Bergvall and at least one of Maddison or Kulusevski needs to make an appearance.

We are able to attack now at least and Woolwich sadly are probably the strongest team in the league. For whatever reason we always get fucked by Woolwich Chelsea and Liverpool. So that is 9 games left without those 3. We have to make that count.

West Ham have a lot of hard games now. We need something to break for us and for them to suffer.

Tough to be 100% on, but I’d put our first choice central defence above theirs. I don’t see Sarr or Bissouma as first choice players, and I do like Sangare. Who has most quality is extremely subjective though. I think desire is a lot easier to spot and we lack it.

I didn't see much different there today. Another limp performance. RKM got a lucky goal. We offer very little going forward and at the back it's a clown show.

Yes ; but it’s Day 1 of a new era .

I expected us to be worse tbf ; and in a funny way losing to ( let’s face it ; one of the 2 best teams in the league, whilst carrying a shedload of injuries) ; might actually help Igor T to see what’s actually going on .

Like all of us ; I’m gutted by the result whilst at the same time not being totally surprised. We were beaten by a team with a stronger set-up but we weren’t humiliated.

There’s stuff to work with there ; IMO.

Good post.

I guess the reality is it's a lot closer than some Spurs fans think it is. And their two best players in MGB and Anderson are miles more effective in this league than our best players. They also play in more influential positions.

If you count the CBs are roughly equal to ours, they have a CM and a Number 10 who are miles ahead of ours.

In other positions its quite similar. The main thing though is they look a far better team than we do performance wise.

Complete lack of fight from the players who look completely void of confidence. Seeing the likes of Bissouma and Simons lining up for a relegation fight leaves me filled with dread. Think we're favourites to go down on current form. West Ham and Forest have got more fight in them. Home form is abysmal so we're relying on away games and we play Forest, Leeds and Palace at home so not looking good. Wouldn't be surprised to see Tudor sacked if we don't win any of our next three league games. harsh but times are desperate.

Sack him and bring in who?

The main issue for me is, people keep going on about or winnable home games but we don't win at home. Like ever.

And people think we will suddenly win 4 home games in a row in the next 11 games?

I'd have given Redknapp the job before Tudor so him. At least he'd give the players a bit of self believe and get go which was lacking today. I'm not saying tudor should be sacked but if we don;t pick up any points from our next three that'll be four defeats on the trot so something would need to change. Hopefully, tudor can pick them up but im not keen on three at the back and not changing it when we were three one down raised a few red flags for me.
