Threat of relegation, but however most people view it,this squad should bot be where it precariously sits.

I don't really care that in hindsight, posters are now saying the squad is sh!t.

It's not the best, but bottom 5 is an utter disgrace and too many have done poor jobs to date.

Period.

There is nothing "hindsight" about what people like bus-conductor bus-conductor and I have been saying about our squad depth and quality for years now.

In fact on November 2nd when we were in 6th position I wrote this:

I know "I told you so" is very unbecoming but you have to admit that everything I said last season about changing the manager is now coming true extremely quickly.

I told you our squad was mid-table and Postecoglou was overachieving in his time at the Club. A fifth placed finish in his first season followed by a League Cup semi-final and a European Trophy in his second represents the best season at Spurs in 40 years. It's just a simple fact. Constantly screaming "17th" when we all the true context around that and the parade we had as memories is just rather silly and doesn't help any analysis of what is happening right now.

I told you replacing the manager wouldn't fix anything. That its the squad that needs changing.

I told you the same fans who turned on Postecoglou and called him a fat cunt etc... would turn on any new manager. In fact I think I predicted it would happen by November. As you can see from the posts directly below yours Frank's already being given stick for his Pressers and his clipboards.

I told you that the real problem was the never-ending cycle of fans turning viciously on managers (from Conte to fucking Redknapp - they even wanted Poch sacked ffs!) thinking some holy grail manager was right around the corner to turn this shit lead of a squad into gold.

All of it. Everything I said is now coming true. Predictably so. Except it's going to be more vicious this time because we tasted trophy success but now our shite squad is having to play in a European comp way out of their league and the managers. I mean Bodo have gone past us already. Because they didn't sack their manager at the drop of a hat!

The cycle never ever stops. We are at the Nuno stage of the cycle - but now we don't have Kane or Son.

I told you so.

Just have to hope that Enic shows a bit more stickability than the Levy regime. And buys better players from now on.

EDIT: Just to be clear the above isn't an argument for "keeping Postecoglou", nor even a pop at you for your analysis of his (many) flaws. It's simply a comment that the underlying issues are bigger than any manager. Frank's just the latest lamb to the slaughter.

This isn't "hindsight"; it's insight.

This has been a slow moving car crash that began in summer 2018 and the final nail in the coffin was when we bought Solanke and 3 teenagers when we claimed to be "fighting on four fronts".

Youd have to worry about his commitment to the cause tho - thriving in the Championship will require a lot of hard graft - which in turn will need a lot of self motivation - which is a worry.

He is a physical monster, there was a recent stat that he is the most physically dominate CB in Europe’s top 5 leagues. That shouldn’t be an issue, even at 70% he would be the best CB in the league. I think the likes of Moore who aren’t as powerful might have some issue.

Are we capable of this still?

I’ll be at the Atletico game, sat in the home end… I’ll be interested to see what our away fans are like. Usually they are amazing. After we took the lead vs Palace, the stadium sounded good.

Honestly think Spurs fans are going to have to flip their mentality out of the doom and gloom . If relegation guaranteed new owners I could understand but they are more likely to try and come back up before they sell anyway.

Nope - we, as fans, don't have the stomach for a fight -

People can blame whoever they want, whatever they want, but if youre not getting behind the team every moment from now until the end of the season, then can you really call yourself a supporter?

Singing only when youre winning is the lowest form of support.

I don't buy players aren't good enough to stay up - they are - they arent playing like it right now for sure, but writing them off doesnt help.

But I think people lose sight of the fact that these are human beings out there, who are feeling shit, low on confidence and struggling to find individual and collective form.

Just because you are a paid professional sportsmen, it doesnt make you a robot.

And the irony is that if people truly believe these players are shit, then even more so they should be getting behind them to spur them on.

I don't blame people for leaving early yesterday, but to think it doesnt have a knock-on effect is just ludicrous.

Why is there no chance. We are still a big club, he will still get a decent wage and get the chance to win a title and build a team.

He said on that podcast only a couple of weeks ago he wants to win the premier league and champions league. He’s not going to do that damaging his reputation in the championship. I suspect he’ll tip up at Man Utd instead this summer and they’ll back him.

We sung for all of the first half yesterday and the players gave nothing back. Support was there but the players didn’t want to give us respect back by actually responding to it.

Wasn't he openly flirting with other clubs when he was with us?

Utd are on the up, Carrick has put them in a really good position and they'll spend more money. Why on earth would Poch say no to that. Shit even Madrid need a manager this summer.

The ownership have systematically killed off this level of support over a number of years - bit by bit, they removed the bricks of the soul of the club and replaced them with plastic
I keep on seeing tweets from Everton fans feeling sorry for us. Makes sense since they can really relate.

And they are right, fans aren't the problem but we could unite and try to be part of the solution. It's hard but I'm pretty sure Everton were in an even more hopeless position when they stayed up.
No of course not.

1. Scousers are a different breed. All they have is football
2. We've long sold out to Korean day trippers in our corporate bowl so dont expect any rabid fervour from the stands

Honestly, the players don’t get the excuse of the owners. I think the fans can’t have the excuse either. Fuck the owners it’s not about them,

The old guy with the pins in his hat and people like plenty on here who don’t deserve to get relegated. Thats who it’s about.

They responded to it

We went one up

Then one player lost their head, and all heads collectively dropped. You could see it clear as day.

To be clear, I'm not blaming the fans - but I don't think we have the stomach for the - like some of the players we have had it cushty for a while

Its a 2 way street. All season the fans have got nothing back from the pitch.
Id say 85% of those players dont give a shit. You can see it in their performances and body language

He didn’t say he needs to do that in year one. Most of his recent interviews have just sounded like a come and get me back. Let’s see

First fans are blamed for not backing the team.

Now they're blamed for.... not cheering the team enough after they completely self destructed in a few minutes after being 1-0 up?

Yeah, the fans have ZERO responsibility for what has happened.

We have had the piss taken out of us by greedy owners. And then by players not caring.

It's amazing there are still 50k odd fans suffering at games.

The fans are far far poorer than the mega-rich owners, and the rich players. Yet they are giving their money to both and being insulted in return.

And there we go.
Like fucking clockwork....
