Odds

West Ham 13/8
Spurs 15/8
Forest 5/2
Leeds 5/1

Side note, what odds will you give me that Woolwich have already won the league when they go to the Spammers on May 9th?, a disastrous scenario.
It’s like a reverse of our City game. I wonder if Woolwich fans will be hesitant or reticent about winning that knowing that a loss could condem us lol

Yeah I definitely thought we’d win one of those first three just by getting rid of Frank. Turns out the players don’t want to do it for Tudor either.

So did I, and genuinely thought Thursday was most likely. Van De Ven singularly put paid to that.

Tudor must know by now the players whose coping best with the increasing pressure and find a formation that gets the best out of them.

But Van De Ven screwed us over on Thursday, not intentionally byt nonetheless.

Next 2 games for the 4 clubs most in danger will be critical I feel. Momentum built or hopes possibly crushed.

I just cannot believe these players have been managed so poorly amd been so bad. It's unreal, even if they aren't the best we have had.

Not one player has been consistently above average. 7 months. Not one.

Yeah tbh I was of the view that we could replace Frank with almost anyone and see an uptick in form, and thought Tudor was actually about as good as we were realistically gonna get as an interim on the market. Turns out I was dead wrong.

Having the NLD as his first game ended up working against him and hurt his chances of a new manager bounce and it's just gone downhill from there. I thought the idea was he'd come in with simple automations and that's how he'd turned around teams quickly in the past, but for whatever reason - our broken confidence, the difficulty of the league, the shit/imbalanced squad - he just hasn't been able to get it to work. The players look like headless chickens and he's complicated matters rather than making them simpler.

Sometimes a lucky manager is better than a good manager and luck certainly hasn't been on our side either. Being on the wrong end of two identical fouls resulting in a crucial goal in his first 2 games was huge from a momentum and belief standpoint. We probably lose both games anyway but those decisions kicked us when we were down.

In the CL we got gifted a couple of wins by brainless mistakes by the opposition when we played Villareal and Dortmund. We seem to be getting the complete opposite luck in the league with huge decisions going against us.

Whole thing feels totally rotten and fucked - probably have to twist again and bring in 'Arry or Mason or whoever, but tbh I wouldn't be surprised if they have the same issues. Whole team just feels completely broken.

I thought the talk of relegation was ludicrous - especially with over a quarter of the season left to go.

Thursday's performance destroyed any shred of hope that I had.

We've got three points from our last ten games

THREE POINTS!!!!!!
Our form is a lot worse than that. If you run it back to our last 27 league games and we are 18th.

Ahead of only Burnley & Wolves. We've been in genuine relegation form for almost the entire season. The first two weeks are the only thing currently keeping us out.

Exactly the same

It's going to take an absolute miracle and a dramatic up turn in form to avoid relegation.

And at the moment it seems utterly impossible.

Tudor has actually managed to make us look worse these last three games. They're up there with the worst three performances of the season.

Going on the last 68 league games it just feels like we're a dead man walking.

I still think there is a chance and I am a pessimist but it needs 3 things really.

1 our injured players back with the last 6-8 games to go so we can put out a team like the below if Igor wants 343

Vicario
Romero Danso VDV
Porro Gray Bergvall Udogie
Kudus Solanke Tel

2 our players to stop being idiots like Romero and VDV

3 get knocked out the CL by AM so we can concentrate on the league.

I am mildly confident on 1 and 3 but far less so on 2.

3 is guaranteed the other two are unlikely

The freakishly good start we had away from home has ended up keeping us afloat.

We need to stop with the Harry talk , the guy is how old now? You really think half our squad even know who he is and he’s probably older than their grandads!
We need to twist though as Igor is taking us down , not sure who I would get in , realistically if we can win Forest and another couple we stay up , however right now I don’t see us winning again this season

tbh we really should be staying up especially when we get players back.

We'd have to be as bad as some of the worst teams in PL history for it to happen. If we're going to have the likes of Romero,Udogie,Kudus and Bergvall returning I find it hard to believe we will continue to be this poor. Especially with some of the fixtures like Leeds and Everton at home.

I get why people think it won't happen because of how poor our form is. But there have been teams in the past who were on similar bad runs who still turned it around. And they didn't have the luxury of being able to rely on better players coming back.

I can’t believe there are still people suggesting Harry Redknapp, even as an arm round the shoulder consultant.

I loved Harry, but these ‘kids’ will just see an old fart, walking up and down the changing room rambling on while sucking a Werthers Original!

They have no affinity to him whatsoever! It’s a feel good for the fans, not a sensible suggestion for football management in whatever capacity.

Good post.

Being positive or negative at this point is largely irrelevant for us as fans.

We are 5th bottom, so however anyone looks at it, we have been the 5th (and not the worst of the 3 teams) to date.

I don’t definitively know what needs to happen but equally I believe it can.

We also need just one bit of actual luck to go our away, and to stop self-imploding. On that I don't think any team comes close to us.

We can do it.

We need to act like a proper big club and pay off the officials.
Yeah that and get in the word of some of these opposition players agents that we’ll put a bid in and give them a big jump in salary if we stay up. Sunderland keeper, Brighton keeper, maybe that Brighton centre half van Hecke, Murillo at Forest. might make them lose a bit of focus in the game. Other clubs are getting in the ear of our players. Sort of joking but that stuff goes on.

We had that luck when Palace had a good goal disallowed only to shoot ourselves in the foot shortly afterwards!

This is the most damning thing I think I've seen

We haven't just stumbled upon a relegation battle, we've been in relegation form since week three.

How the hell we survive this I do not know

I'd be more confident if Leeds, Forest and West Ham were looking poor as well, but they're not - you can totally see West Ham or Forest getting 8-9 more points.

Us?

Leeds and Forest are must wins

He hasn’t helped himself or us. Three or four players out of position each game. He’s created more mess and confusion. I’d get rid of him now. Yeah Liverpool next but you can chuck any opportunity to pick up points away.

Fucking ludicrous appointment in the first place, what fuckwit thought he was the right man ?

It’s wrong decision after wrong decision after wrong decision……………

Lange/Vinai/ENIC even if we do survive have so much to answer for.

1 why when Son is gone did we not replace him with a goalscoring winger, we even got offered Lookman who is balling for Athletico and scores goals.

2 why when Davies is injured and Udogie is always injured did we chance it with a kid in Souza and no other player on top.

3 why do we have only one deep midfielder in Bergvall who can put his foot on the ball.

4 why did we get rid of Johnson and sign nobody only for Kudus to get injured.

5 why did we buy Gallagher when he is only suited to Poch style pressing teams for Frank who couldn’t press the button on a coffee machine.

Despite out relatively low wages in terms of transfer we have spent a lot and yet the squad balance is all over the shop. It’s not lack of talent it’s lack of profile. Great having 3 strikers in Solanke, Richy and Muani but then you don’t have wingers, great having some AM’s but then you don’t have deep lying playmakers. Lange is theoretically as DoF responsible for this and of course whoever hired him.

In short this club is run by really dumb people. All of it needs to go at the top, Levy is gone thankfully but also the Lewis’s, Lange, Vinai. The club needs a new culture and new owners. ENIC are fucking useless.
