When Bale left Kane was coming through, so we had top player after top player, along with some other very good players.

Looking at the squad now, IDK maybe Kulusevski and Maddison are the best attacking players the club has, they both run hot and cold IMO.

I think we're pinning our hopes on some of the young players like Moore, Bergvall, Tel, Gray, Simons, coming through and reaching another level of development.

Even if we avoid relegation why are any top players going to want to sign for a team that have been bottom dwellers for two seasons?

If we go down, finding the best players to enable us to get back up would be far easier. Worst case scenario that we need to consider that eventuality.

But you are right, why would any top player choose to join us, not because we would have struggled for 2 seasons, but why us ahead of other clubs. No idea.

If we get the managerial appointment right, and stabilise, that will be the first step.I thought Frank would do that, but wrong manager at the wrong time.

Staying-up is the primary focus. Then aiming for mid-table to top 6 next season would be realistic, and a strong base. We have some decent players. We need 1 or 2 who are objectively better than any we currentky have.

It’s us or Forest, win this weekend and it’s Forest going down. In fact win this weekend and I wouldn’t be shocked if Marinakis fires another manager.

Leeds have some absolutely brilliant fixtures with favourable kick off times.

West Ham are doing what they’ve done a few times before.

So much rests on Sunday - win and we close this thread.
Or we might go back to our bad ways. I think we have to run through the tape, a win would be great but far from the end of the matter.

This is really good. Nedum makes some really good points about the type of manager you need. I’m only ten minutes in but it’s all about us so far. Manager has to be a problem solver as well as a vibes guy. Can’t have just that as the PL is just too organised nowadays.

Also talk about how shit teams lose games in the first 25 minutes. Something that has happened to us a lot in the last two years. They then talk about how the shit team then rallies and you think you've done well after a game until the realisation hits you that you only did well because the game was done and the other team let you.

Now doesnt that sound very familiar. It is what kept Frank in his job so long. We all said it.

We made a lot of whoopings look respectable under the fraud before Frank.
3-0 down Vs Arse at home at HT only for 2 late goals to make it look close.
4-0 down to Brighton and ends 4-2 and should have been 4-3
4-0 down Vs Liverpool and ends up 4-2
All in Season 1 too. When we finished 5th. With no throwing games for the ropey league.
Quite a few like that IIRC in Season 2.

Watch him rush to book Romero, if he starts.

Probably won't even wait for the start. Book him as he gets out of the dressing room.

Michael Oliver is a Newcastle fan, so, as far as I can see, there's no benefit to them with him stuffing us up.
Unlike last time.. when he made sure Romero was suspended - vs Newcastle.
Forest have 5 games between this and Newcastle, so unlikely he does anything to sabotage them.

Onuoha always comes across well.

I'll listen to this fully.

If we were to beat Forest we'd have a chance to hurdle Leeds in the table this weekend, they're only 2 points ahead of us now.

By the time we play we'll know the result of Leeds' visit to Brentford, but Villa will be hosting the Spam simultaneous to our match so there's no chance we could be in the relegation zone at first kick.

We could only be 18th on Sunday evening if we were to lose to Forest and Spam won away at 4th place Villa. Of course Villa have lost 3 on the trot

Just get us 3 feckin points so we don't have to think about these things...
