They ain't making money in the Champ !!!
They lose out on Premier league money.
They will have to sell players at a discount.
They wont be selling many tickets for Preston North End.
They will be stuck paying the players they cant move at inflated wages.
They will be a minimum of two years away from any kind of European football.
The selling value of the club drops.

If making money is the goal & I believe it is, then this is just total incompetence !!! No other word for it !!!
it truly is. not only are they shit at running a football club, they're shit at running a business. i think when it's all said and done this will be yet another tale of second generation fail sons tanking the family fortune. they should make a cringe comedy series like the office or the thick of it about these clowns. i'm sure behind the scenes is tragicomedy gold.

Wether we deserve to be in this position or not is another question but what is evident is that the referees and PGMOL have been totally against us the last few months. Its non-stop. Its every fucking game. Right now we just need a lucky break. Something to go our way to swing momentum. And the referees consistently giving every 50 50 decision against us is leaving us with a slim chance of that.

It's not done on purpose. Its not some conspiracy from the PGMOL or anything like that. It's just a hidden bias that has crept it. Referees know we are soft and it's just the easier thing to do to give any close decision the other way. Xhaka was basically following the ref around all game yesterday and appealing for everything. Rob Jones allowed it and it basically turned into Xhaka reffing the game. I've seen this happen all season. Maddison is a huge loss because he's probably the only experienced player in our squad who's clever enough to play the referee. The referees hate Romero and he's our captain. They don't like VDV, Porro, Richarlison or any of our other experienced players. They'll book them immediately if they complain to them!

What is annoying about this is that the players have accepted defeat on this front. No penalty all season and multiple red cards. Its a freak stat but we've just accepted it. Our players don't even bother appealing for frees anymore. Some blatant ones went against us yesterday and you'd see little appeal. While Sunderland had rheir whole team surrounding the ref anytime we did get a rare 50 50 call - the ref would then proceed to give the next 5 or 6 close decisions to Sunderland! What is even more annoying is some fans on here have even accepted it. I've seen fans on here in total denial that the refs are against us and saying we are just been biased. We fucking aren't. It's about time we start booing these refs each every week and let them know we aren't happy. And it's about time our team starts standing up for themselves!!

We are in the trenches. Maybe we do deserve to get relegated but fuck that. This is my club. We can't just rollover. We all have to pull together. As fans we have to get on the referees back for every home game. No more playing nice. We have to do everything we can for these last 6 games. Whatever it takes. Please please please don't be on here slagging off the team and giving up. That's what they fucking want. We fight till the end and if we can get a dodgy penalty on the last day of the season to keep us up then that's what we do! But fucking don't just sit back and let the refs ride us. It's time we boo the fuck out of them. First minute on Saturday I'd just boo the ref. Let them know we are sick of this shit. The players might catch on and grow a pair of balls too.

And don't reply to me with this "oh every team feels the same" drivel. Fuck off this forum if that's how you feel. We need a siege mentality and we need to fight for every inch for the remaining 6 games. Leave no stone unturned and right now influencing these referees to actually give us something is our best chance of survival!

I have to admit today I'm really down about our situation.

I thought we might get a bit of luck somewhere along the line with players coming back from injury. I thought we might get one or two wins simply through attrition or good fortune. I also thought we might also get a new-manager bounce from one of the two Frank successors. I thought somehow we'd have enough to get over the line.

Instead, our injuries just keep mounting up, referees give us nothing, and our relegation rivals have found momentum. Our fixtures look daunting now.

I can't really fathom how it's come to this.

Its been a vicious cocktail of a number of things.
The team just can’t buy a win and ,like you, it's made me quite dissalusioned with it all.
Club is going down no question, writing has been on the wall for some time.
Last season they got away with it this year we have pushed our luck too far.
Can't see a game that they will get a result in.

Isn't it less likely because their asset will depreciate?
this is the question and i honestly don't know. joe lewis is a currency trader and would he take the risk of plowing more money into the club to try and get us back up and to a higher value or would he just cut his losses? honestly i don't think these folks have it in them to reinvent as real football people and that's what it will take. i think getting back up will be much harder than staying up should have been

Right now its worth 2.6b. I still think itll be close to 2b even if we drop. That's a fucking mint and then it becomes someone else's problem to get the club back up. Joe's old fat ass can sit in the bahamas on that pile of cash for the rest of is miserable life.
Would anyone be willing to take on the risk, though? It’s one thing to take a cool 600m off the asking price. Another for someone to bite.

We go down and there is going to be a mass exodus of players, sponsorships, staff, you name it.

It would be a massive gamble to spend that kind of money on a club that is going to be actively shedding hundreds of millions. If we do not yo-yo straight up, that new owner would be absolutely drowning in it.

well i hope the new owners actually want to compete and win shit which is the whole point. there's easier ways to get rich than running a big football club. we need owners who want the challenge of getting us back to the top 4. all the money will follow the success not the other way around

They turned down offers in the £3-3.5bn ball park last summer. Dreaming if you think they're going to sell up this year when the asset will be at an all-time low (modern stadium era). They could balance losses this year on player sales, spend a fraction of that and have a squad too good for the championship, and be back in the league the next year. If we're down there for several years, sure, but not this season.
I'll caveat that with, if they get an offer at a similar valuation as last year, because the owner sees it at as opportunity to get value and back themselves to go straight up, maybe. But highly unlikely.

No one is going to spend that sort of money and not try to make it competitive. That's a non-factor. You grow the club's valuation by being successful. You're not going to spend £3-4bn on something and just stagnate the valuation of the club.
