Infant imagine us going down and there not being a massive house clearing upstairs. It'll be a while new team. We'll also be able to attract talent that the rest of the championship won't be able to attract. But it's a hard slot, and I don't fancy much of these fuck wads we have now digging in for a 46 game season.
i think the penny pinching we do with players we do with management and enic will never bring in proper football people who will want to spend and invest at the level required to succeed. lange and the gooner fuck are as budget as tel and odobert

The Lewis kids didn't buy it though. They were tasked with growing/sustaining revenue until a big offer comes in. They have absolutely no ambition to see this team actually be competitive.

If a third party comes to buy it though, they'll want their investment to grow. And the best way to grow financially, is sporting success, and to do that, money, and lots of it, has to be spent. Many of these big investment groups see PL clubs as hugely undervalued, which is why they're clambering to get them.
agreed. that's why i think they'll cut their losses and sell. if they stay on and try and take on this project we could fold. they're that bad at this

We all have so many theories about why we are on the precipice. None are probably entirely wrong but neither is any probably exactly right.

I have put forward a few but I think that any club who finish 17th, regardless of any cup success is scarred.

It's also got a lot of players for whom losing does not hurt enough. Who are probably at ease with how it feels.

With that in mind you must lose a portion of that team or ensure you replace a lot more than 3 or 4 and you only replace them with quality players of a certain age.

Those who are probably a bit fiery but with characters and personalities that aren't comfortable with losing, that do agitate when they aren't in the team because they have shown they are good enough.

If we go down, I'm more concerned that we will seek to keep too many of the players who just don't feel bad enough about losing and who, if we got into another cycle of defeats would simply shrug their shoulders and evaporate.

Whether we stay up or get relegated a lot of the squad need/must be moved on.
My biggest fear after relegation is they keep Lange and Vinai in post!

They’ve showed they’re totally incapable of building a decent squad.

We’ll sell to a petro-state backed consortium I should imagine.

I was dead against it previously on an ethics basis, but I’d welcome it now with open arms.

Hopefully relegation (or near to it if by some miracle we escape) will make ENIC twitchy and want to sell up and any purchaser sees it as an opportunity and pays over the odds with the view to bouncing us straight back up.

We can but hope!
I live in Denver, and we have two factions of the Walton (Walmart) family here. Kroenke Group is one, and they own gooners. The other faction (Walton/Penner) bought the Broncos for $4.5 billion, and just now 40% of the Rockies baseball team. Their net worth exceeds $100 billion. Maybe we can start rumors that pit the two factions against each other, and the Penner group sets up in North London to oppose Kroenke. I have a dream today.

Its been a vicious cocktail of a number of things.
The team just can’t buy a win and ,like you, it's made me quite dissalusioned with it all.
Club is going down no question, writing has been on the wall for some time.
Last season they got away with it this year we have pushed our luck too far.
Can't see a game that they will get a result in.

I agree. Whichever way you look at it, it’s just all utterly remarkable. Unbelievable it’s happening to us. The last two years apart from the EL final has been hell.

And they are about to analyse us on Monday night football right now. I am going to sit through it as punishment.

Finally these fuckwits have recognised what we have, that our midfield is shit.

But they're not taking a £2bn wash in the space of a year. If they don't get up next summer, they'll still be able to sell it for as much as this summer.

In this scenario, we're talking about a wash of several hundred million, or up to a couple billion.

I want them out as much as anyone else, they're parasites, but realistically, until we get to a magic number, and I imagine that number is the ball park of offers from last summer, they're going nowhere in the short-term, it's fiscal insanity.

Agreed. But the likes of Tel and Odobert are going to be very good championship players. If we get straight back up the next year, then hopefully, we see an end to ENIC

i'm no expert on the championship but it seems like the shit we do horribly in the prem will count even more down there, namely scouting, recruitment and tactics. i think we have a better chance of staying up now than bouncing back up after selling off our best players. it seems like we'll have to reinvent and spend to get back up and i have no faith in this crew to do that.

This is what I don’t get : so ok people are seemingly loving the fact that relegation will entail “ a total clearout and rebuild “ .

Where the fuck are all these new , oven/ready , effective and hungry players coming from.

Lange’s little black book ?

I’ll believe it when I see it , frankly .

Possibly but they are now gambling on coming back up quickly, they don’t and they will have to pump lots of cash or risk losing even more money as the value of the club declines. So it’s either

- Invest a few hundred million and get back quick
- Sell at a discount (I don’t think it would be as much as you would think as a lot of our value is our name, fanbase size, stadium, events and land to redevelop)
- Austerity but risk losing even more than the above two options if we get stuck down in the Championship for a while although they might get clever at mitigating costs.

End of the day lange and vinai were levy appointments. So was paratici. Think we've had 3 relegation scraps now under enic tenure. 1 is bad enough.
We had many before them.

Issue is they've been gifted generational talent many times over and they completely sucked the club dry instead of investing so it became a self sustaining dynasty.

We weren't that lucky before them. They've done a worse job than Sugar, arguably.
