I genuinely find it baffling that some fans are ridiculing others for not accepting we’re already down. There’s a difference between calling it as it is based on what we’re watching every week, and taking the piss out of anyone who hasn’t completely given up. One’s realism, the other’s just sad point-scoring.

Yet the contradiction is why are they still watching every game and losing their head at full time? Either you’ve accepted it and checked out, or you still care and there’s a bit of hope there. Can’t have it both ways.

It’s just a classic case of trying to be some football know it all and covering themselves. If we go down, they get their “told you so”. If we somehow stay up, they’ll be celebrating like the rest of us, and it’s easily forgotten.

Yes, the performances have been poor and it looks unlikely we turn it around, but writing it off as completely done and mocking anyone who hasn’t given up is a weird way to support a club.

Supporting a club isn’t about being proven right. You can think we’re probably down and still want us to pull off something unlikely. Acting like anyone with a bit of hope is an idiot just makes you look miserable.
You're conflating rational vs irrational.

There are lots of posters here that police the forum and tell people they're not fans for accepting the situation, and they're basing that off hopes and dreams, whereas every bit of evidence suggests that we're going down.

It's not a gotcha thing, no one wants us to go down, maybe 1 or 2 idiots who believe it'll force a sale (it won't), but when you see the happy clapper nonsense, ignoring all of the evidence right in front of your face, it's irritating, and these are emotional times. If there was any argument based off logic, then that's grand, but just being delusional is just annoying.

And yet I'm sure nobody saw that result from Leeds coming did they?

So from another perspective, does it not demonstrate that we actually could go on and pick up some points in the next 6 games?

We're 2 points behind West Ham for crying out loud, it's West Ham not Real fucking Madrid, they ain't winning every remaining game themselves!

All of you repeatedly stating that we're done, if you're so fucking adamant, how about you log off for the remainder of the season then? Don't watch any more games since you know the results already, and most of all, FFS, stop coming on here to repeat the same sentence over and over again!

The difference between us and Leeds is that their last win wasn’t in December. It’s APRIL. Our players have forgotten how to win.

The difference is that red card never gets given against us. Imagine the hair pull was on Dragusin or Gallagher. VAR wouldn't even check it.

Right now it's so easy to give us nothing and to give whatever you can against us. Every ref is doing it and our players just accept it. The opposition players laughing and joking with the ref all game. We saw it at the weekend, we saw it against forest too where the forest players were literally applauding the referee every time he gave them a free.

If we are going to have any chance of surviving this relegation battle then we as fan need to take this nonsense into our own hands. We need the whole stadium to boo the living daylights out of the referee every single time a decision goes against us. I'd be willing to pitch invade if anything big goes against us. This is our only hope. Teams are getting big decisions every week while we keep getting screwed. I genuinely feel one win could swing the momentum and we could then stay up. Every game is so close and fine margins, if every big decision is going against us then we aren't getting that win. We need to act now and make sure no more big decisions go against us. We as fans have to get angrier. We have to boo boo and boo. We have to be willing to pitch invade and go for the ref if that's what it takes. The players won't. It's up to us now

Never saw Leeds winning @ United. Really didn’t. I thought they were ones we could get. As it stands now, it’s got to be 10 points from 18 to have any chance. And that ain’t going to happen.

We are getting relegated because we are shit. Not because of referees. Every club complains about referees because they are all terrible.

If we had a team that could play a bit of football then we wouldn’t need to talk about referees.

This is the truth. Against sunderland the ref gave us a soft penalty (albeit overturned by var) so he can't have been out to get us really. The fact is if we had a half decent team it wouldn;t matter if every team, ref and pundit were against us as we'd do enough to get some results. we're just shite and the players have given up and have no confidence.

I suspect there are no happy-clappers left ( apart from those living in an asylum) ; but whilst we’re all realistic; some people cope with impending doom by rationalising that’s it not completely inevitable until it actually is .

Weird things can and do happen in sport .

It helps some of us to believe that .

It's the same shit when the transfer windows were clearly going catastrophically wrong and they'd say you're "melting" for pointing out that there are genuinely massive, technical holes in our squad that should be sounding alarm bells.

People using Leeds pulling a performance out of nowhere at Man Utd as proof that we have no chance of survival is one of the more perplexing narratives I've seen in a while tbh...
It's especially perplexing given the narrative in this forum that Leeds are shit, when in reality they'be been tipping along fine for the last 5 months. Before November they were awful. Since GW 13, so their last 19 games, they're 11th in the table and gained 25 points. I've been saying for weeks and weeks that Leeds' league position isn't reflective of the team they are now.

Us, by contrast, are 19th since then, 2 points better off than Burnley and have managed 12 points.

And that's it.

The players don't know what winning looks like. It's been erased.

100 plus days.

Tonight's result will have completely crushed them, even more than it has us.
I'd be amazed if any of our players were crushed by tonight's result. In fact, I doubt they barely noticed there was a game on as they were too busy on the phone with their agent sorting out their summer move.

Wish they posted a video of the players bantering each other playing Fifa or some kind of light hearted competition between them.

Even better, a video of them getting out of their super cars at the training ground with some shades on and cool vibes.
