It will be better to watch too. However I think, two things, Parker is more of a sure thing to bring us straight back up, and two, I’m not convinced DZ is staying to manage us in that division.
I hear what you’re saying about Parker, but I reckon De Zerbi is a top manager irrespective of league.

The one major advantage I think RDZ has is the personality that is more likely to bring about the change we desperately need and the board are already on the back foot with him so he’s more likely to get what he wants.

I really like Scotty Parker, but I think he’d be more subservient to the board as he’s just too nice. That’s not what we really need to shake off this awful malaise and initiate a culture shift.

Last night hurt like nad but I'm not going to lay blame elsewhere, and the past cannot be undone.

6 games remain. We can stay up and Saturday is the final chance to apply pressure on Forest snd West Ham. The last chance as we play first.

I think we will lose and that's so easy to predict, and that's the issue.

I doubt at this stage that the players think they can ward iff relegation, the majority of posters on here think we will go down and so does pretty nuch everyone else. De Zerbi might already believe it.

How the supporters who go on Saturday find it in themselves to be enthusiastic I don't know. They won't be going with optimism that's for sure. My son has told my sister that if we are 3 doen he will go home and wants that agreed before he commits to going.

What a season. Last chance.

These teams kept most of the squad that went down , I can’t see more than 5 or 6 of this squad staying at best , odobert will have to stay and he won’t be fit till the end of the year , we need to buy a whole team and hope they gel . Who is going to be running the football said - Lange ? Who is going to be our manager ? Honestly think we may be screwed for a few years whilst we sort out this mess .
You're painting the absolute disaster scenario and taking it as a given, it's simply not true.

Most departures will be on the club's terms, even those players that have release clauses won't necessarily attract bids that trigger the clauses, certainly when you consider how underwhelming almost all of our players have been for 2+ years now.

On top of that, who do we even care about keeping from the current lot anyway? We'll be forced to sell Romero, Porro, Udogie, Vicario, Bentancur, Gallagher, Sarr, Richarlison, Solanke, Tel, Simons???

Boo-hoo, every single one of those players has been a massive disappointment, either due to performance, or being unable to stay fit.

Given how desperately we've struggled to shift players in recent history, there is zero chance we flog all of those lot, so we will see some leave, and some stay. The youngsters like Gray, Bergval, Vuskovic, we will keep unless we receive stupid bids, and despite what some think, those players haven't done enough to impress those outside of Spurs to warrant stupid bids.

Maybe a bit controversial (and probably not for now) but we can’t keep de Zerbi if we go down. Need to get Scott Parker in who has brought teams up before, knows the club and knows what it takes. Managerial experience of being in that division is key. None of the club have a clue what it’s like being in that division so we need a leader who does.

Not for me.

If we go down it will need clarity which is the first step.

Really important decisions on which players leave but then it's spend, spend, spend.

We will recoup let's say 80 - 100 million on plsyer sales. Rough.

Then we need to buy 2 Championship/PL quality strikers assuming we keep Solanke, 2 or 3 central defenders a goalkeeper and 3 or 4 in the middle of the park. 250 - 300 million outlay.

I wouldn't say we have a nucleus of a squad but we have a portion who will stay but it needs to be the right players. That is crucial.

De Zerbi will be fine I think. The key is quality, fast start, momentum.

Players like the following can fcuk off:

Van De Ven
Romero
Bissouma
Palinha will return to Bayern
Muani will return to the bench.
3 or 4 more will also depart..

Vuskovic could return or we simply loan him out again but he is under contract. He is young. A year in the Championship at his age would be fine.

Biggest amount of negligence probably ever when it comes to a football club. Leeds are an obvious one but they just did too much and didn’t succeed how it required, they took too much of a risk.

Us?

We sacked a 20+ year chairman who ran everything, replaced him with his number 2 (WHO IS EX SCUM DOWN THE ROAD). They took too long to sack Frank and had the audacity to think that they didn’t need anyone until the summer during the Jan transfer window. Then finally sack Frank and replace him with Igor Tudor.

The negligence that’s been going on at Tottenham it’s either sheer incompetence of the highest order ever seen in football, or it’s deliberate.

All season I’ve felt like something is deliberately working against us and it’s just not say right with me the fact there’s clearly been internal issues with Levy going, talks of legal battle and the obvious of Levy holding shares in spurs.
levy has a stake worth about 1billion at the beginning of the season, then he’s sacked and his shares will be lucky to be worth half that once we go down.

I have no real proof of it but since early in the season I’ve called this self sabotage and it’s felt this way. The shares issue is an obvious one between Levy and ENIC and I just honestly wouldn’t put it past our owners to reduce the value of the club in order to snap up Levy’s share in full at a cheaper price.

This is Levy’s personal legacy, he may have been paid well during his time at spurs and be a millionaire, but those shares were worth £1billion cash directly to him and would’ve been seen as his pot of gold that is now decreasing the longer he holds on.

I’ll never not be convinced this was in some way deliberate, I think I just have a hard time believing so many people around the club are that utterly incompetent.

We’re never run like other clubs, everything we do just mainly never make sense.

What I do know though is if I support none of the owners or management staff and every single one these players I’d not think twice about selling - what am I even supporting?

I’ve been spurs my whole life, suffered the invincibles and watching them win it at WHL, never one deterred me from supporting spurs. But now? I genuinely don’t recognise the club I have engrained into my DNA and they simply do not deserve the level of support they have anymore.

Never see a club run so poorly and I’m convinced we go down - what evidence have we got to tell us otherwise?

It’s more a case of integrating 7/8 new first team players , I was comparing to other teams that kept the nucleus and came back up . Wolves could well walk the championship cos they’ve spent 6 months preparing for it , they have a manager and players fully committed . We’ve no idea what’s going to be left for us to work with next season on and off the pitch .

As I said, half jokingly - this is like the first season of ted lasso, where Rebecca Welton admits she was trying to subtly destroy the club just to piss off her ex-husband

Also, the irony of people say for years on here that it's not possible for us to "do a leeds" whilst we actually "do a leeds" with a full-house in the space of 10 months...

I take solace knowing we won't be seeing a load of these cowardly inept cunts anymore after this season. Dare I say corrupt as well.

I want to see more of Phillips, Devine (who this fucktard board put a 4.5m release clause that Preston fans are still pissing themselves laughing at), Moore, Lankshear, Souza, LBW.
The management, setup, department, culture of the entire club top to bottom is fucking rotten. Have been for some time.

When you are in your comfort zone with almost no responsibility, digress is the only outcome. The entertainment business arm of Tottenham Hotspur runs with more objectives in mind. The sporting arm of it? Nobody gives a damn.

The club needs to be sold to an owner with clear sporting ambition in mind. The whole branding and identity be stripped away the better. ENIC has poisoned the entire club only humiliation could be thought of and linked to the football club. We need a new start from the championship if we are relegated. Let De Zerbi rebuild it.

It's funny because in a weird way our recruitment has been setting us up for this drop to the championship already. We could lose the vast majority of our first team seniors next season and still be able to field a very promising young squad in the championship made up of mostly players under 23 and still be expected to win the league, as we've been going out of our way to stack a shit load of them in our squad for the last few years.

And yet some spent the last year of his time in N17 cunting him off wherever possible.

Doom Funk in particular took enormous pleasure in calling him a "coward".

:sonmask:

Not to understand that you need to keep a core of personnel who care about their club is the domain of those who don't appreciate those really essential principles.

Watch Newcastle and Chelsea start to struggle with players who don't care.

We can’t keep blowing these final chances though yet still seem to….

First Palace, then Forest and then Sunderland. They all felt like final chances to me. We are going to run out of them and then find ourselves gone.

Yeah I wouldn’t put it past them to reduce the value of his shares to force him to sell to them at a lower price than 2 years ago. Fucking dastardly but would you put it past them?
