We’ve had to rely on a terrible set of attackers for half a season. If we do go down that will be the reason. The hierarchy thought that Tel and Muani were PL players. Even with everyone else crocked they still believed those two were good enough. Everything about this situation comes down to the January window. That was when we needed to save ourselves.

Now we are just praying that the team can work hard enough to overcome that lack of quality, which is a huge ask.
This is 100% my view also. Richarlison and Solanke to rely on for goals was never going to end well. Neither are consistent and neither are fit for more than 3 games in a row. Despite selling our top scorer in 3 consecutive seasons, the board have been sleepwalking into this mess and, if we go down, which wouldn't now surprise me given that we probably have to beat one of Chelski or Everton, they (the owners) will have got exactly what they really deserve. It's just a shame that we will all have to suffer as a result.

The bizarre thing is that with Richarlison, Solanke, Kudus, RKM, Tel, if you add all their contributions together, and you don't even get one Harry Kane. All the board had to do to keep Kane was show some ambition.

Just got to hope Newcastle turn up for their final home game.
West ham win and it could be over. I suppose a draw against Chelsea to keep it alive till the final day is possible.
Prem is probably engineering this very outcome, calls are way too dubious to ignore

For me losing Son was a bigger deal off the pitch than on it.

On the pitch he may have nabbed a few more goals but we've all said for a couple of seasons now that his legs were going.

It's off the pitch he's left a massive hole. He galvanised the squad. He was the glue and he wouldn't have let standards slip as easily as they have.
Hhm. Not so sure about that one. He was a great player for us in his prime but in all honestly, I thought he was a pretty poor captain. Don’t forget he was here last season when we finished one place above the relegation zone, on the same points we’re on now.

As others have said, getting rid of him was right, not replacing him is the catastrophic issue.

This clubs inability to adequately replace our best players over the last 10 years is a major, major reason we are in the position we are in.

You could nearly use any major player we have tried to replace in recent years as an example, but I think replacing Harry Kane (a year after he left!!) with Dom Solanke is the most poignant one.
Ineptitude of that level just would not happen at a serious football club.

Morning you fucking soft bellied twats.

Since De Zerbi arrived we have:

1-0 v Sunderland
2-2 v Brighton
0-1 v Wolves
1-2 v Villa
1-1 v Leeds

GS - 6
GA - 5

W - 2
L - 1
D - 2

Whose to say we can’t stay up? Yes we need West Ham to fuck up

West Ham:

0-1 v Woolwich
0-3 v Brentford
2-1 v Everton
0-0 v Palace
4-0 v Wolves

GS - 6
GA - 5

W - 2
L - 2
D - 1

Now if you were a betting man you would say that Spurs have the slightest of edges

Yes we need Newcastle ideally to win and definitely not to lose and us again not to lose. If Newcastle win and we avoid defeat against Chelsea, well bar the formalities we stay up

Newcastle last 5 home games
W-2
L - 3

West Ham last 5 away games

W - 1
L - 3
D - 1

It’s also Newcastles last home game of the season much like Chelsea v us

Chelsea last 5 home games
L - 4
D - 1

GS - 2
GA - 9

The most frustrating thing about supporting Spurs is we seemingly never take opportunities that are there to be taken.

We had just got a slice of luck from VAR call against West Ham, Leeds were mathematically safe, missing key players (they started Dan James FFS!), one of their defenders was literally hobbling around for 15 mins, and we STILL pushed the self-destruct button and could have lost.

How many opportunities like this will we squander before it relegates us?

Would you take a loss against Chelsea and a loss for West Ham against Newcastle if you were offered right now?

It would leave it in our hands in the final day, but we would go down if West Ham beat Leeds and we lose to Everton.

Would help us if Howe picked Gordon in their gane against West Ham but he seems to be making a pount, whivh he appears unlikely to move away from.

I can't conceive that Newcastle don't give their all in that last match with my biggest fear being a red card for Joelinton or Guimares, but 11 against 11, I think Newcastle start as favourites.

That West Ham have Callum Wilson who has done infinitely more in less minutes than Muani is another indictment on us.

We just don't want a draw in that match, albeit far better than a Newcastle loss.

If spammers lost at barcodes, a draw at chelscum will be enough.

But to test my theory of Leeds, PL, FA and PGMOL wanting to relegate us, spammers will thrash Leeds 12-0 on the final day and we go down on goal difference.

I'd take that. If we come out of the next game in the same position as now, that's about as good as we could expect. Obviously anything could happen, they could lose and we could draw or win and hence be safe, but equally they could win and we could lose. So right now I'd bite your hand off for us to get the same result as them (win, lose or draw, makes no difference) in the next game, meaning we'd need a draw against Everton to guarantee safety (but could still lose that game and survive if WH don't win their last game).

With our seaon performances and home form into account; we are likely to lose cheski away and everton home leaving wham needing one win and we are Fcuikn done.

Only thing to cling to really. Newcastle undefeated in last 2 games. Good home win against Brighton so some confidence restored.

They need to lose tbh as I don't see us beating Everton. Squad can't handle home pressure

I know I'm deflated from yesterday, but I don't think we'll win another match this season. A point against Everton maybe.

I'm literally praying that Newcastle and Leeds do us a favour.

Yesterday was the golden opportunity and we missed it like Richarlison on the end of Muani's cross.
