RIP Tottenham Arthur

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

So who actually came out and said he had died? And based on what evidence? Because they hadn't seen him at an away game for the first time in 500 years?

Surely he actually is dead?!

I found out the name of the hostel he was at, and I have emailed them asking if I could have his contact details. I will try and find out if it is down to a financial issue why he is not going to games, and if so we can try and fund raise for him to get a season ticket at the new stadium.

Apologies for butting in but if the chap in question hasn’t been seen at games would it not possibly be for financial reasons by all accounts to watch Tottenham you’d have re mortgage your house and if he’s in a hostel he’s got no chance, unfortunately.

He's been homeless for years. He turned up to the game, and someone with a spare would give him a ticket, or people would club together to buy one, e.g. putting in a couple of quid each. That way he went to every game, home and away. It sounds unlikely but it's true. He rarely could afford the ticket himself, and didn't have a membership.

His poverty didn't stop him from going to games. But I wonder if in fact it's a mixture of poverty and old age/ill health. If, for instance, he would need to get a taxi to get around, he'd have no chance. He used to walk to the London games. Someone mentioned to me that he used to go to the European aways too but then decided he was too old for that.

London on its own is not a place for the old never mind going to foreign lands.

It seems as though he is still alive (see my post on the previous page). I think people thought he had died because no one has seen him at games for a while.
I received a text message from a fellow supporter (who occasionally travelled on the same coach as arthur) who had said he had died so god knows!
Yes let us all know what you find out mate.

So a poor old, slightly desheviled guy misses a few matches, and people put 2+2 together and come up with DEAD?!

Gawd help me or Nutter-Naylor Nutter-Naylor if we missed a coupla games... they'll be dredging the rivers looking for us!

Very good news, hope he is in good spirits despite his inability to attend matches any more.

Met and spoke to both him and the younger chap that also goes to every game and collects programmes at Stoke away in 2011 - my second ever away. Pair of Spurs legends. I myself felt special to have made the jump to going to aways, definitely felt humbling in the presence of those two guys.
