I'm so over your shtick to be honest. You still have your head in the sand like a flamingo. Always with the over-it-all condescending 'look at the doomers, we would never be like that, we're level-headed'.

It's far too late to be level-headed, we are in the doom scenario, it is actually fucking real. Wake up.

We have zero league wins in 2026. Predicting dropped points every single week is completely improbable and yet it came true.

And in this proclamation, De Zerbi has a proven and detailed track record of blowing up in his previous coaching jobs. It wouldn't be the second, third, or even fourth time he would have had serious disagreements with the board and flamed out before his contract expired. The exact same thing happened in Brighton and Marseille.

I think RDZ will stay once we go down. This squad will get gutted (rightly so), keep the younger players to re-build a solid base along with adding the likes of Moore and develop a strong blueprint, style of play to come back stronger.

I dont really give a toss anymore, we almost need to be relegated for our own sakes to try and enforce the kind of change that is required. The more senior players and so called leaders have been completely diabolical this season along with the hierarchy.

The fact they stuck with Frank for so long and then jumped to tudor when we were long into a crisis will go down as one of the dumbest moves this club has every made, and there has been very many of those.

I look back at those few years after poch when we flogged kane and sonny to death season after season. Every summer we would cry out for another top attacker to add that real strength in depth to fight for important thing and year after year this club rested on its laurels and failed to deliver.

Good luck to the ownership selling tickets and making precious money next season, fools.

Is that a thing? 😁

On a serious note though, while De Zerbi is a hot-head with a history, having signed a long deal and kept saying that he's staying no matter what, he's not going to do his career any favours if he has a hissy fit and flounces off.
What big club would consider him next?

I think that unless the board fuck him over and renege of their promises (which is always a strong possibility with our lot), he stays.
If he tries to force himself out without good reason, no sensible club will take a chance on him for a while.

I think he'll stay, only because he's never getting anything close to what he's earning here, elsewhere. That's the only reason.

It didnt happen after 7 games after coming on a 5 year contract though did it.

The reasons they happened at each club were specific to those situations and De Zerbi doesnt ha e the same MO as Conte either. Never won like Conte and doesnt have the same demands in terms of quality being asked for.

'Dont sell my best players and not replace them' is different to 'buy me the exact player i want or ill be a cry baby'

Either way. Happy to be level headed.... you say it like its a bad thing.

Ironically, I think De Zerbi is likely to stay at the club for longer if we go down (assuming he doesn't instantly fuck off). A year in the Championship will give him greater influence at the club, control over the construction of the squad and build a more positive bond with the fans as we'd be winning more games and aiming for an attainable goal (promotion). Provided the club don't fuck him around and we get promoted, he's then gonna want at least a season, or more, to see the fruits of his labour in the Prem.

The situation reminds me a bit of Bielsa at Leeds. He's famous for being intense and not lasting long at clubs but he was at Leeds for almost 4 years after joining them in the Championship - far longer than almost all his other stints. Benitez similarly had his longest stint at any club since Liverpool at Newcastle after taking them down after joining in a very situation to De Zerbi (arrived in March pre-relegation).

Walking away from £40 - £50m is a tiny bit different than walking away from £5 - £10m

Impressed with him so far. Yes, it will absolutely end in tears and a tantrum at some point but right now he looks up for the fight. Love his passion but above all he seems to be getting some sort of tune out of this lot. Unlucky not to get a point at Sunderland and 3 last Saturday. Given time, a full pre season and a few of his own players he could have us back in contention for European places fairly quickly.
