Leeds sat deep and hit it long

We have 0 technical skill in the entire attacking lineup doesn't matter if we had Pep or used necromancy to get Brian Clough in the dug out. We ain't gonna play Stella football simple as.

The players who we have fit cant do it and are frankly shit hence why we are in a relegation dogfight
This

Worst front three we've had since the 90's surely, and without Simons / Kulu / Maddison its a pedestrian (but workmanlike) midfield with very little creation or goal threat

The turnaround since he came in has been nothing short of incredible.

4 games unbeaten. 2 wins. And both draws at home should have been wins but for two dreadful errors. We are controlling possession. Giving up less shots. Winning xG and xGA.

The only loss was to a complete fluke of a deflected goal.

And all of this with a terrible injury crisis made even worse by Romero; Solanke and Simons going down.

It might be too little too late but he's done wonders. We would be 5 points clear at least if we'd just done what it took to convince him to come after Frank was sacked.

Officials were on his case from minute one... Couldn't wait to get him in the book.

He had a dig about the officiating in our recent games tonight.

As much as I didn't like hearing him say it, it's very smart of him to say there was a foul on Raya 200% and emphasise and reiterate that in his post match to the journos - loud and clear.

Doesn't want officials feeling they need to make anything up to spam in the last two games and hand them freebies.

Good move.

It was obvious from the start.
Leeds are very good at playing a solid 5 4 defence and we had zero creativity available to break through it.

I do think that we could have put either Bergvall or Gray on earlier because they are better running the ball than either Paulinha or Bents but they do lack the experience.

Tonight was a disappointment but not really a surprise.

He'll blitz the championship imo . If that's where we're heading

He is a very good coach, board would be wide to keep him as sweet as possible

I have zero doubt we'll bounce right back up if we go down and if he stays. Good football under progressive managers always smashes the Champo like Kompany with Burnley or Martin with Southampton - and those sides never had anything like the talent we'll have at that level.

Thank was basically Frankball tonight. With a little bit more running about.

Absolute fucking bollocks. More possession, more xG, less xGA, more shots, almost TRIPLE the number of touches inside the box, 11 more corners...

That was the furthest thing from "Frankball" than you could possibly imagine and all done with even less first 11 players available.

Jesus fucking Christ... our fans :roflmao:

Win - Give De Zerbi the keys
Drop points - Frankball, not good enough

:D

To be fair, we should have had at least 1 goal going into half time and, over the course of the game, should have been out of sight before Longstaff forced the Worldie from Kinsky.

Richarlison was the main culprit. How he managed to shank that ball from RKM wide was ridiculous, a simple side foot volley would have buried it, instead he tried to put his laces through it.

The one thing I really noted from the game was that, whilst we were energetic, it was frantic. Against Villa we played with energy and aggression but, more importantly, it was controlled. Our press was on point for the majority of the match there, last night it was all over the place with virtually no control, hence why we saw so many balls bouncing off the shins of players rather than being controlled.

I still think we are scared to play at home, it's a mentality thing, which was why we went into our shell after Tel's goal, and got worse after the penalty. Our mentality is fragile, and I include the fans in that, as the ground went very quiet after the pen when they should have been roaring the team on.

I'm already looking forward to next season - regardless of what division we're in.

I think we'll have a great year next year but only if RDZ stays.

My worry is he's only saying he's here next season if we get relegated as a psychological ploy.

He's definitely the appointment that we needed. Unfortunately the technical levels of the team is pretty low and one thing De Zerbi is good at is raising that by hiding the deficiencies of the players through drilling his patterns into the team.

The usual downside to that is that it does eventually get found out after a season or so but considering where we are now thats the least of our worries.

Yeah, they've definitely developed a mental block playing at home and that's something that RDZ is going to have to work hard to shed.

But as you say, we did create enough chances to have won that game and should have taken at least one of them.
Although I do think the Richy one was harder than being just a simple chance, it came at him pretty quick and he was under pressure so while he could have done better, it's not like he missed a sitter.
Watching in real time my first reaction was that Muani should have had a crack and that make me think that Richy may have been expecting him to, so wasn't quite ready for the pass.

It’s certainly a lot more positive than when we had Frank, but I’d be even happier if RDZ dropped Muani. Move Porro forward, change formation, do something, rather than just keep playing our worst player because there’s nobody else. New plan please.
