Sarcasm bro.
Well that is a load of bollocks, as I didn't say Defoe was shit did I? I just questioned the type of shot played for that moment. I have a lot of time for Defoe as a player, but even I recognise the fact that he's not good enough to be our headline striker, he's far too selfish and too willing to go for the scatter gun approach to shooting. If he was playing for a midtable side, he'd be their star player. However for a side like us that has aspirations of a title challenge, depending on Jermain isn't going to be good enough.
As for wishing someones family members to be shot, get a grip we're talking about football here not some other attrocious situtation.
But had Defoe blasted it and it not gone in maybe you'd have said that someone as cultured as Soldado would have tried to place it?
As for the selfish thing, there were numerous times during Defoes short appearance where he played the pass instead of shooting - just as he did the other night.
Oh and well done on completely missing the point on the shooting people thing.
I think got the point you made but wasn't going to respond to it. If it was in response to Jermain Defoe then he has enough to deal with family heartbreak. If it was Soldado then huh? If it was Adebayor it's all a bit crass. I'm happy to call players cunts etc but with regards to acts of violence against anyone it's not something I associate with sport.
Without wishing to invoke Woolwich players, there are two who started quite slowly and did alright for them; Bergkamp and Henry, who I think, combined took 19 games or something like that to score their first goal. Soldado will be a great player for us, and whilst it would be brilliant for him to be banging them in left right and centre we'll (and he'll) have to remain patient.

I hope you are right but there is nothing wrong with giving an honest opinion on his performances so far....
Some people are far too defensive.![]()
Could debate this to death but it's clear people are split on this and no one is changing their minds.
In my opinion, it's pretty simple. There is no point in signing a £26m striker if we don't have faith in him to do the job. He needs the team to consistently get him the ball inside the box and have confidence in him. We were terrible at that last season with most of our goals coming from screamers outside of the box. Dropping him doesn't solve any of that.
Fine line between discussion and argument. If he keeps his current goalscoring form and plays 50 matches this season he'd of scored 29 goals (4 in 7 so far) I think he's acclimatising well, he's a different sort of striker but you don't get into the Spain team without having a tremendous amount of talent, and I think that will seep through in the coming months, the reactions in the box and his quality of movement are world class, expect him to score 30+ comfortably this year, suppose it will be judged at the end of the seasonYep, lets not discuss anything football related till then.
Did you see X-Factor?... Shit sorry no, best we wait till Xmas.

I know JD wouldn't approve of that joke m8.He'd have blasted it straight at him instead? Like he does.
Fact is he didnt manage to work himself into any similar position did he. Still cant question him as that means you think he's shit and want every member of his immediate family shot.
How about chopping them up and feeding them to him in a chilli?OK forget the shooting of immediate family, how about feeding them to the pigs instead point missers
