Match Scum (A) 24/09- 2PM - SUPER ANGE 🥰

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I just want to see us playing as we have been, heart, desire, commitment. I want them to know they've been in a game. I want them to think, feck this Spurs team is a bit different. As long as I see the team going for it, then at this stage the result doesn't matter so much.

Kind of odd that Porro is now automatic choice over Royal, who was in his best form for the club until he got dropped. You can't deny Porro has an excellent eye for a pass/cross but he still worries me defensively.

Obvs a bit depends on Martinelli, but I'd be tempted to start Royal over Porro. He's shown himself to be very effective in big matches against attacking sides, such as the win over City last season.

I don't think it'll happen - Porro is almost certain to start... but I think it's probably a bigger decision than whether Richarlison should start.

EDIT: Just seen he became a Dad today so maybe he'll be too knackered to play anyway :/

Suspect we'll see the same lineup from our win vs. the Blades, but I'm curious how we'd look w/ Kulusevski in the #8/Sarr role.

Some intriguing match-ups to look forward to specifically Destiny vs. Saka.

It will be interesting to see the starting team this time, we have genuinely good options up front to choose from and more than three are in good form.

Son - probably tired last week from internationals but is captain and a big game player

Richarlison - just got what a striker low on confidence needed so will be a bit different now (probably sub)

Solomon - Aaron Lennon 2.0, closest thing I've seen. Not as explosive but has better end product, it's hard to drop him.

Kulusevski - he's playing so well at the moment and offering something completely different as a winger and just scored the winner

Johnson - looks very very good the time he played, could be special

Perisic - he does frustrate me a bit because he's slow and a bit predictable but he just plugs on and is reliable and effective, a bit like Davies

Everything behind attack seems quite set this season, until Bentancur comes back then you wonder what happens in midfield
Bissouma will be the key to this game. How he bosses midfield will dictate the outcome of our game.

Not a bad problem to have is it?

2 decent RBs after taking about 20 years to replace Walker and Trippier.

We've been the better side for the better part of a decade, I'm not accepting of this slow peddling that we ought to just be happy competing with them based on 1 flukey season in which they collapsed in historic fashion. We're better than they are, and I expect us to remind them of their place.

Stlducks Stlducks do you watch with the St. Louis Spurs group? Going to be in your town this weekend, trying to determine if I want to wake up and watch in public or stay in my hotel room. Likely depends on how Saturday goes.

Vicario, VDV, Udogie, Porro? Maddison, Solomon?

Johnson the 7th? or Bissouma hasn't started one yet?

Either way, no baggage is a good thing but tbh it's been years since we had a huge divide either way when we just expected Henry and the crew to roll us over.

There isn't really a player in our squad carrying much for them in terms of negative energy.

Atm thinking this:

1
Vicario
2
Porro
3
Romero
4
VDV
5
Udogie
6
Sarr
7
BOSS
8
Maddison
9
Kulu
10
Son
11
Richy
lineup code
[lineup]
Vicario
Porro Romero VDV Udogie
Sarr BOSS Maddison
Kulu Son Richy
[/lineup]

Richy LW to help us hold the ball up vs the press.

Vicario, Porro, Van de Ven, Udogie, Bissouma, Maddison and Solomon haven't started a NLD

Only Romero, Sarr, Son and Richy have from the team that started at the weekend.

I get that completely. We just haven’t shown ourselves off too well at their place for a good while. I want them to know their home NLD is more in doubt as a win then it has been.

Vicario
Porro Romero VDV Udogie
Sarr Biss
Kulu Madd Solomon
Son

Richy -> Son - 75'
Johnson -> Kulu or Sarr (depending on game-state) - 75'
Perisic -> Solomon - 75'
