I went to Wycombe (I’ve supported them since the 90s) in January and the day was so much more enjoyable than going to spurs. There wasn’t as much pressure (although obviously they have to win games in their position) as at spurs, no VAR which was wonderful and you know the people in that crowd are there because they want to support their team. There is not going to be a single tourist there. Division one football might be where it’s at….,although hopefully the wanderers won’t be in it for too much longer!
Totally agree don't get me wrong I love Spurs & I enjoy going to the stadium but non PL football is WAY more interesting to watch in England. Here's my thoughts & I know this is off topic for the thread but I want your opinion.

  1. Not infected by these systems that are tiki-taka, possession based only play it seems players are given the space to really show their skills without those rigid styles of play. This makes games way more exciting & unpredictable.
  2. Players try their best to keep the ball in play - none of this keeping the opponent away so it becomes a set-piece or a throw.
  3. Faster syles of play that create great break-outs & tackles are way more intense so players aren't so afraid to even touch another player - I think this is due to VAR etc.
  4. You get to see all ages because the ticket prices aren't fukkin extortionate.
  5. No glory hunting 'fans' who know nothing about the club past one player or season.
  6. Nicer atmosphere as everyone is just way more chill :)

This makes games way more exciting & unpredictable. Yeah there were times I was wanting the keeper to chip it out to the fullback and they could have but it didnt even seem on their radar. If anything they did pass it short to a centre back and did knock it long. There wasnt as much rigidity.
  2. Players try their best to keep the ball in play - none of this keeping the opponent away so it becomes a set-piece or a throw. There is also a lot more players staying on their feet. Not as much throwing themselves to the floor
  3. Faster syles of play that create great break-outs & tackles are way more intense so players aren't so afraid to even touch another player - I think this is due to VAR etc. VAR has ruined the game for me, although this season I actually think it has been fine. Cant celebrate goals though and I dont as much as I used to. That will never change.
  4. You get to see all ages because the ticket prices aren't fukkin extortionate. Wycombe are doing the final 4 home games for £84 adult, £30 kid (4 games for the price of 3) or £28 and £10. Cant check for Wrexham Saturday as it is sold out, amssive 6 pointer.
  5. No glory hunting 'fans' who know nothing about the club past one player or season. Agree
  6. Nicer atmosphere as everyone is just way more chill :) Agree

Wycombe were unwatchable under Ainsworth even though successful, now it is actually a good watch. The game we went to was a nil nil draw as well!

I don't find football interesting if I don't care who wins.
I'm not one of these uber fans (person without a life or responsibility) that can watch any match in depth. I've been to a few non league matches at the behest of others and it was about as interesting as going to a pub and drinking coke.

My issue at the moment is I don't feel I care whether Spurs win or lose at the moment. I can't recall feeling that way since the days of Hoddle and Pleat in charge.

Wha there my friend! I'm an Assistant Vice President at my company, have dependants who rely on me for financial & in person help due to less abled parents - don't have kids cos I can't have them.

I do agree with you with current Spurs as I really don't give a toss about any PL games - if we lose them all then so be it.

Let's face it all concessions will be gone in a few years even for kids.

This is gonna be the future of Match Day Spurs fans...

More likely about 60% of matchday fans will be long serving season ticket holders who have to give a few things up to pay. Like Sky Sports, Netflix, food, drink, electricity.
You know, the non essential items.

The rest will be made up of corporate ticket holders, IE expensed as a tax write off for companies to unofficially bribe clients with matches, and a few laughably rich folks who just buy season tickets everywhere because "it's not much more than a match ticket, right?"

Agree...

My season ticket costs the same as a month's rent for me. I like block 103/122/105 but I never go near 119 cos the away fans piss me off & it can become a slagging off match, I do go 254 or 104 if I'm in the mood for it but I prefer being by the sideliners as I see a better game & I can swear at the managers - I tend to put away £150 a month in a Revolut account so it covers it by the time I have to repay the ST but I'm thinking I could use those savings to do ANY FUKKIN THING ELSE than watch Spurs...

Jesus are there any Spurs fan actually excited for ANYTHING atm???

Premier League will have to vote through a rule change for that to happen, all clubs must offer matchday tickets at concessionary prices, however, it doesn't specify what the discount is in the rules

R.8. Concessionary ticket prices must be made available by each of the Home and Visiting Clubs for:R.8.1. senior citizens; andR.8.2. junior supporters.
