I bought a season ticket to have a chance at a cup final. In my time we've had 2 cup finals and haven't been able to go to either.
Once I've been to a cup final, I'll probably retire from season ticket ownership.

It’s a tough cord to break.
It's not really luck. I couldn't get to Madrid because flights were crazy expensive, and I could get to the league cup final because it was during covid.
The team will fluke their way to another final in the not too distant future.
We won't win it, but a final is a final and I'd like to get to go to one.
Wonder what effect the Mason 'feel good factor' will have on renewals now?
Not renewing mine until nearer the deadline, probably won't but hopefully if people are slow to renew (or not) might put some pressure on them to do something

I’ve never been a season ticket holder but I’ve been to 6 finals at Wembley.
Last one was 1991 .
the problem now us that instead of the previous 24k season ticket holders , there are now 42k. About 10k of them will miss out on tickets. You’ve just got to find another way.
the best thing we ever did was in 1986 -87 when we started the first club members system. Part of that guaranteed a cup final ticket to the first 25k I think it was. Got me to the Watford semi at Villa Park, followed by the Coventry final.
I've got reminders set up for 24 May, but I still check the renewal email every few days to ensure I read it right.

It's a different world now.
The only way you get a cup final ticket is as a season ticket holder with enough loyalty points or you some how find a ticket being sold through unofficial means. Usually at great expense.
I was a jr spurs member then, also went to semi final and final - final cost me £6.
Can imagine FA cup is still a pain to get tickets for.
How many do the fans get these days 20k?
At the old Lane there were about 22K season ticket holders and all would get a cup final ticket.
Last season the final allocations were 30,500 each, so in theory about 12K or our 42K ST holders would miss out. However, this is how Liverpool split their allocation last year and I would expect ours to be similar:
- General supporter allocation – 71 per cent
- Contractual supporter allocation; to include seasonal hospitality members and priority rights holders – 21 per cent
- Matchday officials/first-team players/media – 7 per cent
- Commercial partners; contractual obligations – 1 per cent
The income itself isn't necessarily a big deal - but the contracted income is if you want to borrow money or sell the club
It's about 30k to 35k each and the rest are "nuetral"
40k tickets at an average of a grand each is £40m
Then add in everyone spending money at the stadium.
And then add in the fact some of those are not £1k each and are actually £20k a year etc
