set pieces...

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Is this true? If so I didn't know it. Why not forward links with such stats?

Why not do your own research? ......Especially if:

Admittedly, I've been out of the loop for a while. What stuck in my mind was the way the game against Woolwich was lost, as well as the Villa game. I thought that was huge to drop points like that against Woolwich. I thought that was an easy goal for them. And the Villa goal was via the same sort of a formula. I thought it was a very cheap way to allow goals. Against Woolwich that was basically a tap-in header. Wasn't even a great header. And Villa was the same thing. It was a tap-in goal.

Why are you making comments on the broader state of the team/manager if you're "out of the loop"?

Why not do your own research? ......Especially if:
I do. I almost always do. But I've never been statistically analyzing football and I don't know what are the best places to get the best data. I looked at some stuff/websites and I was disappointed. I was hoping some of the long-term Spurs fans who are in the know about that stuff would share such things. Like places where they get their data.

I have been statistically analyzing NBA basketball and the website that I found sufficient for my purposes is MUSE stat. Something muse stat.

ps I am a PhD. Not in statistics. But that is one of the methods of analysis I am extremely well versed in.

I feel we are often robbed via set pieces. That's just my own view/impression. I don't like to drop points via set pieces.

And robbed not just by referees but also by cheap tricks/plays. That has always been an issue for me.

And I was disappointed that there was no current thread discussing set pieces. So I wanted to make a point and enliven the very oldest one.

Personally, in my mind just the dropped points to Woolwich deserved that.

But . Hey . That's . Just . Me .

I . Guess .

I'm a fuckin' supporter. I like to write things. I'm opinionated. I want the very best for Spurs. Sometimes I can be wrong. I like to come here to discuss things. See if nobody agrees with me etc.

I didn't question whether you were a fan or not.

I questioned why you'd be complaining about something before you informed yourself about the situation... Only to then go as far as to call it "laughable".

A lot of data out there is also biased. Fyi.

Data is data.....

2 set piece goals conceded in 10 games is not an opinion nor "bias"; it's a fact.

i know the rumours that we dont practice set pieces at all but surely its something
we need to be practicing? we had how many corners and free kicks that amounted to nothing.
we should be getting at least 1 or 2 goals from those. in my opinion having watched loads
of guys have a go at taking them our best player is by far kranjcar.
jump on youtube and check for yourself.
problem is when he is on he seems to bring the team down somewhat, i dont know if its just a pace
thing or the fact that he hardly gets any game time but he always seems out of place to me
when he is on the field. BAE's free kick was brilliant, sure it didnt amount to a goal but it was
way better than anything else vdv or modric would have done. i say let BAE and kaboul
take the free kicks. we know BAE stays late at training to practice long distance kicks so if he
is the only one practicing them let him fucking take them!!!! common sense!!!
kaboul (like huddlestone) could probably kick a ball through a brick wall, so between him
and BAE we actually do have guys who should be taking free kicks.
obviously it creates a problem because if things go wrong they have to get back to defend
but shit if they could guarantee us even 4 more goals a season it would be worth it.

corners :harryfacepalm: i got no idea... no solution to that dilemma...

12 years and about 6 managers later, same old posts.

Just hope if Spurs coaches read this, they look at the issue rather than deciding its worth re-signing BAE (Benoit Assou-Ekotto) as the solution ! :D :D :D:wall:

WhyTF would you ask me that? Random supporters are not asked such questions.

I've also never believed in player-ratings metrics. My own personal sense of it kinda always has been that it's BS. But that doesn't mean I've never given or been enticed to give player ratings. But such a thing would be something I don't remember (for I DON'T) and something very rare indeed.

The answer is that personally, again, I've never believed in player-ratings metrics. My own personal sense of it kinda always has been that it's BS. But that doesn't mean I've never given or been enticed to give player ratings. But such a thing would be something I don't remember (for I DON'T) and something very rare indeed.
So you have a phobia about ratings?
Really? Can't you deal with ratings?

Wow!
Just give the ratings. 1-10. Simple. There is even .5 now.
