That was the worst refereeing performance I’ve ever seen at PL level (saying something). It's a tough one because the ref's other option is yellow cards and then he has to send the GK off.
However they do it, they want to kill the whole Jose/Italy "tactic" of trying to destroy the game by sitting deep, not attacking, fouling to kill the flow and time wasting.
Today Sheff UTD got punished for continuing with that tactic byt us scoring in extra time.

I’ve just seen the Chris Cowlin fan cam video, and you clearly see him fall then get up and just walk off with the stewards showing him how to get back. The flag saved him, and it‘s the only pride he’s experiencing after his team’s performance yesterday.
