Match Sheff Utd vs Yid Army FA Cup Wed 1 March 2023

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The last 6 seasons we’ve been kicked out of the FA cup our defence has been -

17/18 - Dier Davies Sanchez
18/19 - Dier Sanchez
19/20 - Dier Sanchez
20/21 - Davies - Sanchez
21/22 - Dier Davies
22/23 - Dier Davies Sanchez.

Nice to see we are learning from our mistakes.

The same Dier that was part of a defence that kept out Man City and Chelsea and part of a team that kept 4 cleansheets in his last 6 games?

We didn't have to start Sanchez mate. The coach decided not to start our best centre back.. You know....the one our owner signed to replace Sanchez...

Zero reason to rotate the CBs.

We just have no magic in team. Theres no player in team that has pace and is entertaining. I do think porro will come good but hes a right back. Dier, davies, sanchez, lloris, moira, perisic can all go. Not a knee jerk but average players. We need more stardust in team. Top 4 is just about acceptable come end of season. Need new ideas in summer and a coach with vitality and enthusiasm.
You are right. There is no magic at all. We look like we are playing walking football most of the time. Time for a massive clear out. Growing up watching Spurs there have usually been periods where the excitement of the crowd would go up a notch if certain players got the ball - Hoddle, Gascoigne, Waddle, Ginola, Ardiles, Klinsman, Van der Vaart, Hazard and Bale to name a few. Who can we honestly say excites us in this team? They are all so uninspiring and stealing a living. Can you imagine Conte signing these type of flair players? He is the wrong fit for this club

Tottenham assistant manager Cristian Stellini speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "If you don't win a game like this its because something was not perfect and today our energy was not enough to put the opponent in a great difficulty.

"We had opportunities to score, but now we have to analyse the goal we conceded. In the moment if you concede a goal you need time to recover.

"There was more energy from the changes, but we have to improve a lot.

"I can only apologise to the fans for our performance and they deserve much more than this."

Nothing we don’t already know, just a shame the players refuse to change their ways. Being complacent never helped a team win anything.
It's the chickens coming home to roost from when we made the mentality switch from taking cups seriously to focusing on trying to win the league and making deep CL runs only. Even our big players that are meant to set the standard don't take the cups seriously now.

We need a complete cultural retooling.

Words fail me after that. Only 2 or 3 players at most can say they actually tried. Everyone else was utter dog shit. It also appeared there wasn't even a plan on how to win the game against Sheff Utds reserves.

Fuming right now at such a pathetic effort.

It's not going to be a fun journey home tomorrow.

Bless... I wish I could buy you all a beer.

You sounded magnificent.

Let’s be honest , we struggle a lot of the time with our best eleven playing . When we rotate , the players coming in just aren’t up to it . Why oh why don‘t we just give the FA cup some relevance and actually go for it ? It now looks like we could have actually won it this year , seeing who’s left in it . We need a trophy FFS !

I'm depressed enough not to read the previous pages, but I can well imagine how this thread went!
The arrogance of our players was shameful, TBH, just thought we had to turn up to get through.
I'm not going to post my thoughts on the game either, as like the players, don't think I can be bothered.
On the coach home and if we get a good run, should be home by 2am. Think I'll hibernate tomorrow, just know that Romford will be crawling with gooners.
🤬

That’s just silly revisionism.

Son looked twice the player Richarlison has at this point in his first season. Sure he wasn’t at his absolute best, but he was showing real quality and any fan who had any clue would have wanted to persist with him.

Richarlison has been in the Premier League for years now and has never looked like a top player. We knew what we were getting with him.
You're the revisionist here. In Son's first season he played 1100 minutes and had 5 goal involvements (gonna leave out the Ropey League for even comparison). In Richarlison's 1000 minutes (PL and CL) so far this season he's had 4 goal involvements.

Hardly "twice the player". Go check out Son's thread from early 2016, not a lot of people were convinced he would come good. Many said Lamela was a superior player. It wasn't as rancerous as the Richarlison thread, but then this place had a better cast of characters in 2016 and our expectations as Spurs supporters weren't nearly what they are now.

To be honest, more than Levy, more than Conte, more than the players, and more than the lack of trophies, its the fucking miserable negativity that pervades the supporters these days that has me soured on Spurs. It's just all fucking moaning, dawn to dusk.
