/So you're saying Owners are not spending??

Doesn't ange get a good salary package?
Didn;t we moved on 6 or 7 players and reduced their wages - the non angeballers so we can buy even more

didn't we spent 50M quids on BJ and 150K quids/week on Werner
plus half a dozen of players not-on-the-cheap
(just last year they said we have the best CBs in the league plus the No.2 rated EPL-goalie)
and a top striker for 70M+

do Levy need to spend even more?
Well history suggest yes . If you want to compete with the big boys .
Those players and their wages might be big in Levy terms but they are still no where near the successful teams figures . In fact while they may seem large they are just the going rate now for our level , better players come with a much larger price tag and wage , and Levy won't go near those figures .
If Ange isn't the solution , and he isn't the first to be in this position what is the solution ?
Would a coach like Klopp or even Pep if he left MC , would they come here with the current squad and work with the kind of budget Levy works with ? If not then Who ? Potter ? De Zerbi ? why would they be any more successful than Ange , they didn't win anything , and whilst both played good football , and they are both now unemployed , is that the only requirement .
I don't know the solution regarding the manager , but I've been around long enough to know that now to be successful regularly in the Premier League then money talks .

I think what nobody realises is that the Premier League is the most competitive it’s ever been. There are about 10 quality teams and even the mid table teams are good. The table reflects this. Finishing 7th or 8th 20 years ago was a failure not so these days.

6th place in England is a better achievement than top 4 in other leagues.

The other thing is, apart from Man City every other big club has missed top 4 on a number of seasons. I said before a ball was kicked that we would struggle in the league and finish 7th or 8th at best because we have too many games and we don’t have the squad to cope with it.

I honestly think if Ange is still there next season we will get at least 4th but Madders and Romeros will be gone

A part of me don't want him sacked but I just don't know where we recoup the 11 points we lost against Leicester, palace, Brighton(2nil up FFS) and Ipswich.

There is another part of me that's less qualified than him but see flaws in his system that are so obvious

We keep him. We have only just started on this rebuild and given the young players we are buying; this is not expected to be a 'quick fix'.

We are being punished for not talking our chances in front of goal. Against Ipswich, we saw Johnson, Werner both miss very good chances. We saw some excellent crosses from Werner with no striker attacking them. We have the 2nd highest xG and 2nd lowest xGA in the league. All the numbers say, we should be sitting 2nd or 3rd - but of course, football works on results, not stats.

we'll win against Man Sh1tty?

or are we more sh1tty than sh1tty?
We play more 'citeh' than Man Citeh

SACK odds
Ange now #5
Maybe. They fear us. But our form sheet looks like a checkerboard. We’ll see who turns up.

I dont understand people saying they don’t care about the league and only about the cup because they just want one trophy. Yes the drought is a bad one, but what’s a carabao cup mean when you finish 10th? Is that a successful year? We had a second place finish and a CL runners-up just a few years ago.

I know it’s been too long on a trophy but oughtnt we refuse to become some club like the Spam who have no illusions they’ll ever win the league and just aspire to Europa and cups the big clubs can’t be terribly bothered about? This kind of talk is beneath a big club or it should be.

I think we should fire him now and go balls out for the best replacement we can get. Said replacement then has a chance of a cup, top 4 and getting us properly on track in the summer window.

The losses to Ipswich and Palace, combined with our overall form for the past 20 odd league games make me think we are going nowhere with Ange, so why waste any more time with him?

I am more and more of the mind to let him go now if we can line up a thoughtful replacement who won't massively shake up the playing style but will refine it and get the players invested. It's very very difficult now to see a world in which this system wins us a league title or a cup with any merit like the FA or Europa, it's hard to remember a season under any manager since Ramos where we had such a wide array of embarrassing results and performances to be pissed off about (I guess you could compare it to Nuno but tbh he should never have been hired in the first place and it's hard to judge him too much given he was sacked after a few months in the job). It's not just the losing/drawing in games we should win, he's not gonna get us extra "unexpected" points in any other fixtures either, Newcastle and Brighton were both there to be got at, playing makeshift defences, yet we completely gave up vs Brighton and never really got going vs Newcastle. Woolwich looked shit at home vs us, they provided virtually no threat going forward unless they found Saka in space, yet we ourselves made it look like Gabriel and Saliba were playing footie in the garden with their kids. Way too fucking easy. I also think that plays a part as well; I don't think he really understands the fans. He wants to treat Woolwich, Chelsea etc as "just another game", but then he has the gall to question the fans' mentality when we lost to City last year. I fucking despise legohead but at least he knows what that fucking fixture means to his fans.

We’ve got to be more long term than we have been. I’m fed up with the revolving door approach: it hasn’t achieved anything other than players with potential drifting away to other clubs over the years- think how you’d feel if you had 3/4 bosses in a couple of years. Eventually you’d be tired of the drama and conveyor belt of managers with new ideas.

It’s only November, we’ve had a couple of shockers but I’d like to see a bit of stability. Give him to the end of the season for me.

EDIT: unless it goes horribly wrong and he loses the dressing room. But I don’t think we’re there at the moment.

I don't want one trophy, I want all three.

I think it all comes down to how much you value the league cup and what used to be called the UEFA Cup. I personally know what we went through to secure those trophies and the trophies I was a part of remain very special to me.

I would like us to win the league as well but it's not going to happen this season. Sometimes you just have to roll with the punches. We have a proud cup history and many of those successes have come in the midst of poor league form - even the CL run came from a declining Poch team that wasn't performing as well in the league as in previous seasons.

And don't compare us to West Ham. They don't have our cup pedigree and never will.

Agree with much of this, but the bit in bold is almost irrelevant - club culture and leadership/board is holding us back. A few years ago Chelsea had major managerial churn and still won the CL twice.

Player power being what it is now, managers are the more expendable part of the equation.
