Short termism gone MAD!
...HE'S BEEN HERE 3 GAMES SHY OF ONE SEASON!

I don't mean to sound 'preachy' but Arteta, Pep and Klopp didn't finish 5th in THEIR first seasons, and look at them all now!

Ange is WAY AHEAD of schedule... CL would almost be TOO MUCH, too soon....

5th/Europa League is where we are right now, and might even have a chance of winning .. So calm your boots. We ain't winning the CL next season, so there's little point being involved....

The Europa League/FA Cup/ League Cups on the other hand ARE trophies we could win... so let's give those a decent stab... Rather than belittling them as somehow 'beneath us'...

ANY trophy we haven't won for 20 years can't be 'beneath' us!

Keep him. Don't get me wrong, I'd have happily saw him sacked at half time in the derby. But overall, we should be able to finish 5th and even though it's been up and down, that's a solid season for his first season here and our first of the post-Kane era.

We need better forwards, that applies whoever the manager is. So get them in the summer and let's see what Ange can do. If he underwhelms then can him.

I think it's a snapshot opinion poll of how we feel about Ange at this moment in time. Nothing wrong with that.

I’m totally pissed off with him and the football we’re currently playing

Too much tippy tappy stuff

Too many players playing out of position (playing at all!)

Hence my vote

I will be devastated if anyone disagrees with me!

Yeah I think in that scenario, we have gone into Ramos territory and there'd be no way Levy could start the new season with the team in freefall before a ball is kicked.

I don't think we will lose to Burnley and Sheffield Utd though - famous last words!

Burnley will be interesting

I think we'll beat Burnley and Sheff Utd and lose to Man City. That should see us get 5th, and sacking him in that situation would be absurd. I am concerned by our drop-off through 2024 though.

I say keep but

a. Hire a specialist set piece coach
b. Set fire to the playing squad and fully back him in the window

If we still look shitty around Christmas then I would be tempted to pull the trigger then provided we've done a) and b) but probably not before. I am not convinced but neither do I think the experiment has run its course. I don't see anyone obvious who could come in and instantly improve us either.

Being realistic we are in a results business and if we continue next season as we've ended this one he will be gone as no manager can survive that run of form.

I'd sack anyone if you were guaranteed to replace him with someone clearly better.

Can we do that?

Who would that be?

If it was Potter I'd snap your hand off, like I would have last season. But that ship has sailed because I think he's the next England mgr.

de Zerbi is very good but he's the mercenary type who'd go to Real or Barca at the drop of a hat.

De Zerbi is exactly like Ange, super attacking football, his rest defence is questionable.

This poll is actually an quite interesting take on social media. Presently 82% are showing they want him to stay another season.

But if you go by the loudest voices on this forum and social media you would swear it were the opposite.

Let's see what the temperature is exactly on Ange.

Poll closing around the time of the Burnley match.

It goes without saying that:

1. the club need to back him with good signings this summer and
2. if the losing streak continues into the autumn and/or he totally loses the dressing room, then he'll be toast regardless.

Can we see who voted what?

I would keep him for next season but if he resides over 7 straight defeats there is no way he can keep his job.
Yeah, this is true.

It’s nothing to do with melting or short termism. It is what it is. If we don’t take another point for the rest of the season, he’s got to go.

No manager gets to lose 7 on the bounce.

A lot of people have no time for levy but I would side with him if he decided to let him go. You can’t be spending tens of millions of pounds for a bloke who then might continue this form into a new season. It makes no footballing or financial sense. Levy won’t have forgotten Juande Ramos.

Same holds true for a lot of things though online.

You’re far more likely to hear/read complaints online (for example of transport / a shop etc) than you are people praising something.

Just an ingrained thing - people love a fucking moan.
