Feb and March was 7 games, 14 points so 2 points per game

If you want to make it a longer sample size, start from December in the league:

16 games, 36 points @ 2.25 PPG

That spell was probably better than the famous “first 10 games”, especially considering it included the brutal Christmas fixtures
But if you do November to May it's 28 games, 40 points @ 1.4 PPG.

And currently operating at 1.04ppg.

See the pattern it's going down

Yes we should stick with Postecoglou and it will become fantastic all of a sudden and we win it all. I don’t have any proof, just some high ceiling Richard Arlison has hallucinated about.

December to March last year, 3 month period of 16 games @2.25 PPG

If we get everyone back and somehow the board pick up a decent transfer or 2, that’s easily repeatable.

Brentford might be too soon for everyone to be back but if we beat the Elfs that gets us into 1 game per week territory and players back to rotate for EL.

Even if we include Brentford for argument sake, 15 games left @2 PPG = 30 points.

54 points total for the season.

Win one or two of the 3 cups we have left… loads to play for this season.

We’ve got as much chance of getting Conte back

Or you realize that form is temporary and you can always cherry pick a random set of dates to fit whatever your agenda is.

Last year we finished 5th. This year we won't finish 5th but we have a great chance at winning 1 of the 3 cup competitions we are still in, especially the Europa League IMO.

As is managing a club like Tottenham, working for a chairman like Levy, dealing with the ultra high demands from Tottenham fans.....all extra pressures that have broken nearly every manager that has been here

Exactly mate.

This fan base has turned on 2 of the managerial greats of the modern era and even our own best-ever in the modern era.

It's painfully obvious they would turn on Iraola even quicker than they did on any of those 3 and there would absolutely be a rough patch of form where he isn't meeting their expectations.

We don't even need to ask if he'd get proper backing from the club to meet those expectations either. Spurs fans get charged top 3 money to support the club but the squad consistently has a top 7/8 wage bracket. It's not exactly a surprise that no manager can live up to expectations.

Realistically he’s not gonna wanna manage anyone else in Spain. If he wants the PL a lot of the big seats are recently taken or relatively secure. Maybe he sees himself in Serie A. But most managers have to come into a struggling club as a rule.

The weird thing about Levynomics is that he will pay top wages for managers. He flat out refuses to do it for players but has done it several times with managers.

He could and would pay the wages that would attract a coach like Xavi. The sticking point would be the wage bracket and transfer budget. But realistically, we'd probably have more wiggle room than he operated under at Barca so if there were no other big Prem jobs going, Xavi would probably be more than realistic.

Form over 50 games isn't temporary. We don't have a great chance to win a cup we are struggling to beat anyone...we won't get a result away from home in Europe under this manager which you need to do to win it.

The initial point was based on Paul O'Keefes assessment regarding Iraola....and comparing it to Ange.. both been in prem the same time.

Iraola is proving he belongs at this level, Ange isn't.

Ange finished 5th last season.Iraola finished 12th

Right now the difference looks in Iraola’s favour. By the end of the season, it could look different again.

Ange finished 5th with arguably the 5th or 6th best squad And after a great start and should have finished 4th but our end of season form was embarrassing despite having a fully fit squad.

Iraola had a terrible start and has since gone from strength to strength.

Ange been found out and don't know what to do.

Iraola hasn't been found out and is finding ways to win with injuries and a weaker squad.

Ange finished 5th after selling our best striker ever and starting the season with Vicario, VDV, Udogie, and Porro all playing their first full season in the PL and 2 of them adapting from WB to FB. We also lost out captain and best player Son for more than a month to Asiacup, had months without Maddison and VDV who are both vital to the way we play and lost Sarr and Bissouma to AFCON for about a month.

The found out thing is a total myth. I’ve just shown you there was a period in the middle of the season, including the brutal Christmas schedule where we were getting >2 PPG. You don’t achieve that, with all those challenges to overcome, if you’ve been found out.

This is why Iraola will come in the summer

This is just the beginning, Liverpool apparently in for Kerkez, semyeno will have admirers etc

It’s a shame and tbh it’s shit that it’s like this and teams like Bournemouth can’t build but I guess it’s the way it is. The vultures circulate.

I expect Bournemouth know it’s coming and will try to prepare accordingly

That's why he'd be crazy not to accept an offer that comes in now whilst his stock is high. If he waits til the summer, chances are the league form has returned to the mean a bit and his odds of having to face a European and PL season without several of his key players goes up dramatically. Bournemouth will take the money on at least a few of Huijsen, Zabarnyi, Kerkez, Semenyo, and Kluivert because clubs like that have their model built around doing that. They will buy cheap again and try to rebuild because this squad will have reached the peak of it's cycle. Same happened to Brighton.
Whoever is Bournemouth manager next season, if they have European football to manage and the PL, most likely they won't finish the season in that job.

Not saying I'd offer him the Spurs job btw just agreeing with you on the reality outside the current hype.

They're good players I agree. And I was initially defending Ange at the time because I wanted it to work but after rewatcing games from last season and seeing this season unfold it has completely changed my view about him as a manager at this level.

That greater than 2 PPG Is still based heavily on those first 10games. Which was in 2023. Our last 10 games of last season is a truer reflection of what we are under this manager.(Had a full squad then aswell).

We are the easiest team to play against in the league right now and he isn't doing anything to change that. He is exposing our weaknesses, not protecting them.

That 2 PPG isn’t based on those first 10 games at all, I didn’t even include them. I was talking about the 16 games from December to March where we got 2.25 PPG. I haven’t even added the 10 games to see what that would look like over 26 games…

If you’ve watched the games and have your own opinion on what is and isn’t good football, you are entitled to that opinion, obviously. I’m just not that interested in people’s opinions on what is and isn’t good football when evaluating if we quit on our manager at this point.
