Xavi had Barca’s 2 best seasons in 15 years or something like that. Gave debuts to Gavi, Pedri, Cubarsi, and Yamal.

Sorry - just re-read and have to challenge this statement.

Xavi managed them from 2021 - 2024. He won 1 league title (in 2023), 1 Supercopa, and no CLs. Are you saying that was the best couple of years for Barca since 2009? His first two seasons they got knocked out of the CL in the group stages (first time that had happened in consecutive years in the modern era), and then got knocked out of the Europa league in the QTR finals (by Frankfurt and Ten Hag's Man U respectively). In 2024 he was fired. Before he was fired he said he'd leave at the end of the season as he brought too much tension and it affected the players. He then changed his mind, but they sacked him anyway. That is not a managerial pedigree, especially as he did that at Barca where he was a legend. Other than that he has only coached in Saudi. Like I say, he'd be a big gamble. World class player - yes, Barca club legend - yes. Manager potential ... hmm.

Barca La Liga titles from 2010 - 2020 (10 years before Xavi): 2011, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019.
Champion League wins in same period: 2011, 2015

I honestly think this season has been so disjoined and so many of our players have been poor that we are not in a position to take risks with managers this summer. Poch seems by far the most sensible choice but if he isn’t ready then just grab Frank for a few seasons.

PPG he has 2 of their best seasons in years.

The La Liga he won he had no business winning with the squad he had and the club in so much chaos.

How is Potter still an option and why so many votes?

Barca fans weren't too pleased with him. Probably not as dismayed as they were with Luis Enrique's direct approach, but Xavi's football was pretty dull and lacked intention/purpose. I don't think it's a good look that Flick's Barca played so much better from the get-go. Maybe I just have to pay Flick some more respect. He also made Kovac look a fool, at Bayern, by winning the CL after taking over mid season. I'm not convinced by Xavi. Not sure he's a good coach

They were absolutely in love with him when they won La Liga playing excellent football and blooding La Masia kids.

Remember how much stick Enrique got for his Spain team being boring?

Fans change their mind like the wind.

When you have a legit football genius, who is completely obsessed with the sport and coaching, you get them if they are interested

Imagine Bergvall and Gray, Devine or Donley learning from Xavi?

Steady Eddy required after this shit show and probably Prem proven too.

Iraola, Glasner, Frank in that order for me. Would be okay with any of them.

Eh Flick has had a good season but he also has a better and more settled squad than Xavi did. Plus they are very high risk which means it can go to hell very quickly (see Tottenham). 4-3 is fun when you’re winning. Xavi’s Barca was less frail defensively. Immediately turning them around, winning the title when they were such a mess was impressive. Plus at those clubs it comes down to about 3-4 games separating a good season from a bad one. Look at RM this year. Track record with analytical Spanish midfielders as managers is quite good…

Ultimately who knows how anyone will workout for sure. All good managers will have failures if they stick around long enough and take challenging jobs. Enrique has had ups and downs in his career. Working out for him now. The best thing we can do is try to hire a good manager who either fits with the players we recruit or is adaptable enough to do so. Xavi seems to be a reasonable shout. As long as we don’t ditz around for months then hire Nuno then tell him he has to play a different way than he’s been successful. I’d be fine with Xavi, Frank, Iraola, Silva for the most part.

Nicely put mate

If we win Europa league and get champions league I do worry about who we will appoint, if we do qualify we really need a manager who has experience juggling European football and league football, aswell as is buying a few players who already have this experience.

Out of the premier League options Frank, Silva and Iraola really don't have the experience at that level. (Iraola did as a player)

So I guess Glasner is a good option in this sense.

Maybe the likes of Xavi, Terzic, Schmidt or Hoeness(new contract?) would be smarter choices if we did qualify.
