thought in first half we played "better" than rest of this season (not saying much there), and free kicks in first half had been thought about
still can't believe Conte & Coaching team have not understood how to use 5 subs, (been banging on about it since last march)

Whoa. Did I read that correctly or has your grammar fucked me? Meeting Sandro (who you’ll likely never meet again or get to know as a person online or in real life ) was better than meeting the delightful Mrs P.?
I hope I read that wrong
deadleyledley was joking......
you were joking right?

No not having that.

It may have been the first time we've lost, but the performances have been just as bad for the majority of this season..... Only difference is that we didn't get away with it tonight.

Jesus, we only woke up last week against Marseille when they went down to 10 men and I shudder to think what would have happened had they not got a red card.
For me we didn't play that bad last night. We created chances, we dominated most of the game but the trouble is when you concede 2 goals in the space of about 30 seconds it flatters the other team and makes them look like they battered us which causes the mass criticism.

A draw would have been a fair result and unfortunately we let it slip which isn't good enough so we lost, move on and beat Leicester on Saturday and all of a sudden its a different outlook.

Left this thread as soon as the goal went in for sanities sake.

My take away note is this has to be a wake p call to Conte.
He cannot keep picking Son and Royal. He needs to change those 2. They're contributing little to nothing game after game.

We need a midfielder who is always available for the ball and can dribble. Someone like Bissouma. So I propose......we use Bissouma.

As much as I rate Conte as a coach, I will be unhappy with him if either or both Son and Royal start the game on Saturday evening. I thought he was reticent to change it because we weren't losing.
Well, we've lost. So change it.

I worry a little that Conte is the stubborn type and the louder the calls for them to be dropped rotated the more insistent he will be to play them until we put in a decent performance and then he can feel vindicated (incorrectly).

There is absolutely no logical reason why Emerson has started every single game when there are 2 alternatives within the squad, with the amount of games in the schedule it wouldn't even be a contentious decision that required explanation. He's benched Kulusevski for a sustained period now ffs but won't rotate Emerson for one damn game???

To be honest, whilst not being great, I think we’ve actually played worse in games this season. For the most part it was an okay-ish game, I thought we were a bit more proactive than we have been in some other games, but both had their moments, their spells. I thought we had more threatening situations (the xg supports that us 170 v 1.52 them) - apart from the Edwards individual “moment” first half, I don’t remember them threatening much until they scored twice in injury time, one set piece and one dribble out of nothing.

I think a draw would have been fair, but I'm equally not grumbling if one side or other nicks it.

Pretty much exactly how I saw it.

100% this.

We had so many good opportunities but our final ball simply was not good enough.

If you're that poor in the final 3rd with crap decisions/technical quality.
If you insist on playing a RWB who teams are happy to leave open because his final 3rd play is so poor.
If you drop your best player this season for 3 games in a row.

You deserve to lose to average teams.

Conte fuck off man, you see something isn’t working and you just refuse to change shit.
Wash your mouth out cretinous will be after you and a few other conte fan bois😀

I agree. We just have to hope they get tired or lose focus or concentration in the second half, rinse and repeat.
It’s like the tactic is hope the oppo don’t score and we conjure up something out of nothing. V OM we didn’t look like scoring for a month of SUNDAYS even v 10 men. Then a couple of crosses land where they should and we score. Isn’t that what Burnley, Bolton , Wimbledon use to do? Thing is against teams like sporting with our height advantage we should actually have crossed the ball more into the box. However our corners were shocking again (what is the set piece coach doing) and royal is dross. When perri puts the ball in the box no one is there as they are too ficking lazy to make a run into box.

Was a bad night for jokes
:contesmell:
If you don't laugh, you'll cry. Spending £100s and time going out to watch European away games means you have to take the rough with the smooth.

Don't let it spoil your day, if the game didn't mean so much to us we wouldn't. But alas we live and breathe spurs so it'll hurt for a while. The sooner the Leicester game comes around the better. But we need a win for it to get out of the system.

Enough rationale to remove the disagree?
